Holiday Hybrid ATC Swap

CRS

Recommended Posts

Wow, try saying Holiday Hybrid ATC Swap 5 times fast, lol! I was hoping to squeeze in a holiday themed swap before the new year and it looks like we'll have the chance! Your cards can be any theme, not just December holidays, but I'd love to have them back to you all by Christmas as a bonus little gift!

If you are interested in joining us, here are some things to know:

The best way to do this seems to be to buy the 9 slot baseball trading card holders. They are designed to fit into a standard 3 ring binder. You can fold the sheets in thirds and fit them into a business sized envelope. Please include return postage in one of the slots, allowing for an extra ounce in case participants are especially exuberant with their bling. If it's not needed, I will return it with your goodies. Also please include a self-addressed envelope. We've found that the larger 6x9 envelopes work better than business sized envelopes but the postage rate is the same. When you mail the envelope to me, the post office people will tell you if there's a non-machinable surcharge. A great hint is to use your own address as the return address in case it gets "returned" for any reason.

Sign up in this thread by Tuesday November 1st. On November 2nd, I'll PM everyone and let you know how many to make and my address. If you could have them to me by December 2nd, that should be enough turn around time to get them back to you before the holidays and all that extra mail the USPS has to deal with.

Who's interested??

Oh wow, making my calendar page got me back into how much fun it is to make these! But, I'm not going to have much arm/shoulder mobility or able to drive for a while after surgery so I can't be sure I'll get one done. So sadly, I have to pass on this month. :(

WOO-HOO!! Well under way, most of the printing done, just need to cut and paste. But....I'm out of glue! Hobby Lobby, here I come. All I need is glue, all I need is glue, all I need is glue.....My eyes will not wander....OOOOH....LOOK...glitter!!!

I keep forgetting to ask my girls - we've had a busy few days. Put Karlie down too, in addition to me. I think Laura is still a bit too young to be able to focus to finish several cards. If Karlie doesn't follow through to the end, I'll finish hers for her, based on her design. She's pretty crafty (in the good sense), I think she'll come up with something nice.

I hope you were successful on your trip Ann! But remember, I don't have a final count for how many to make yet!

No worries about the number...I'm making 12 to start and can do more if I need to. Didn't get to Hobby Lobby yet, so I can start the assembly.

The supreme test...Hobby Lobby didn't have the glue runner refills I needed, so I had to dash over to Michael's, focus, focus.I managed to get out with just what I want in for and now my cards are well underway. WHEW! What a struggle!

Wow... haven't even started. Lots of time, yet, though, which is good, as I'll probably be helping the girls figure out what they want to do for theirs. So on that note, Laura (my little one) was disappointed that I didn't sign her up. I'd like to add her, if there's room... I'll encourage the girls to make cards that are primarily printed, so that they don't have to do too much cutting/punching/sticking/gluing. Laura's attention span is still a bit short!

Of course there is room for Laura! And I haven't started yet either. I do have a design in mind, and what I need for it, but won't start for awhile. Brooke has her idea, too. I'm not sure about Lauren....

Mikelle, I was happy that another Laura will be joining us! :daisy: My mom (with 4 daughters) loved sewing and crafting with us at young ages and those are the special memories for sure. Have fun making your ATCs, Girls! I printed a couple extras in case we have more join our SWAP, and have started to add the pretties this AM.

I've always liked the name Laura, it's a pretty and classic girl's name. Then I ended up with a mother-in-law named Laura, so it was very easy to give my own daughter that name! Laura's middle name is Eden... which is actually after Edith, my grandmother, but I decided to go with Eden instead. I figured she could still be called Edie, like my grandmother, if she wanted to. =) My DH calls her LoLo.

Mine are almost done...12 of them, but can do more. I LOVE this swap! With so much time left, maybe I'll add some more glitter and bling. Can there be too much glitter and bling!

No, Ann, NEVER too much glitter and bling! LOL

Mine are done and drying. Will jingle their way to Kentucky tomorrow!

Hahaha...you girls are a riot! Jack has decided on a holiday and I found some cute stickers for him to use. Me, I'm still up in the air. I've got a couple more weeks of teaching a prayer beads class, so my creative juices are going there at the moment. No worries...it'll come...

Oh, and happy Halloween!
