Hi everyone -

I have arrived here to finally learn digital scrapping. Hubby and I celebrated our 41st anniversary last week and discovered that our wedding album had become food for the mice. The album is chewed around the edges but the pictures were salvageable. So I'm jumping into a Wedding album and hope to finish in a respectable amount of time. Looking forward to learning tips and tricks from all of you that have gone down this path before me. If you can recommend products for a simple and elegant wedding album, please let me hear from you, I'm not sure where to start. On to the tutorials I go!! Carol in Nashville

Hi Carol, welcome! I think Scrap Girls is the best place to be, great learning opportunities, lots of challenges posted, and everyone's encouraging. Sorry about your wedding album, but I'm glad most of the photos made it through. For about the past year, I've been slowly scanning in my older photos, so that I can keep them forever, and also so that I can scrap them. I never was a paper scrapper before. I love digital scrapping - I think it's more versatile, you can re-use your products over and over in multiple different ways, you can change the colors or textural appearances of them, etc. What photo editing program will you be using?

Hi, I have Photoshop Elements 12. I tried to make friends with it last Sunday but it's a bit complicated for me. I'll keep at it, tho! I've seen ads for an upgrade but not sure if it would be worthwhile. Thanks for stopping by! Carol

Hi Carol and welcome to Scrap Girls! This is the best place for all things digital scrapbooking. There are a lot of PS element users here so don't hesitate to as for help. It can seem overwhelming at first but once you get the hang of it you will never look back.

YouTube and Adobe have great tutorials to help you. Plus our designers also have tutorials. Brandy Murry has some fabulous YouTube tutorials. Just look her up, she does them for PSE and PS.

Don't feel intimidated, you can do this! Welcome to SG's.

Welcome to Scrap Girls! We're so glad you found us!
PSE 12 is a good program. You might want to invest that upgrade money in some super good training - http://store.scrapgirls.com/Learn-Digital-Scrapbooking-Using-Photoshop-Elements.html.

PSE is not intuitively obvious, and you'll save much time and sanity with tutorials specifically aimed for digital scrappers. I learned from this series and I'm so glad I did.

Having said that, PSE 15 has some great new capabilities, and it's half price at Costco right now.

Looking forward to seeing you around the messageboard!

Welcome to Scrap Girls. There are lots of tutorials available here. Also go to Pinterest and search for Tutorials PSE. Don't hesitate to ask. We are a friendly bunch. Do you get the freebies twice a week. Their are also other freebies available, I think the special for the SG club might still be on. Grab it if it is.

Wow, thanks for the wonderful welcome everybody!

I have made progress - all photos are scanned and journaling is all ready; software upgrade was 50% off on Amazon so it's on the way - and I got the 'dummies' book for PSE15. Baby steps!

Wow Carol sounds like you are onto a good start already. Scanning the photos and having the journalling sorted is a pretty awesome achievement already. Once your software arrives don't hesitate to call by and ask questions. Lots of very clever ladies here that are often willing to help. Look forward to seeing your layouts of your wedding. Congrats on 41 years, thats a great acheivement!

Oh, dear! So sorry about your album. I'm impressed with your progress so far - photos scanned AND journaling done. Check out some of the choices under Fast and Easy. They might get you over that first bump of putting a page together. Hope to see your finished pages.
