Which Digital Photo Album Software??

What programs do you use to sort, archive and share your digital photos? I am looking to purchase one and can't seem to find what I want.

Some things I want:
++to easily manage and display my photos in 'easy on the eyes' format on my
computer. I want everything laid out in front of me when I open the program,
I dont want to have to hunt around on my computer for my pictures every
time.
++to easily upload albums onto the net (maybe use instead of Gallery).
++to burn albums onto CD for family and friends to use on their computer
(must be compatible with the most common applications like IE or Adobe, i
dont want anyone to have to load up a new program to view my album). I think
I also saw that you can burn to DVD (to share with grandparents who arent
interested in using a computer).
++easy to use, reliable, something that I will still be using in 5 years
(try to pick the 'leader of the pack' that will still be in top 5 in 10
years', i dont want to have to keep changing program platforms)
++Im really not so much about image editing. I really dont use those
features at all. I have maybe done red eye reduction on one pic EVER.
++templates, templates, templates, i want LOTS of choices and the option to download new ones instantly

The ones I have found so far, have you used them?, how do you feel about them? do you know of others? :

Jasc Paintshop Photo Album $45 download $49 boxed

I have a copy of the trial version, I havent really looked at it yet.

Adobe Photoshop Album $49.99

not sure i like that you have to use Adobe to look at the albums, would
prefer something that is in windows/explorer

ACDSee $49.99

MS Picture It! $54.95

My sister has it, but I dont remember her being particularly vocal about the product, and it doesnt seem to really have an 'album' feature.

FlipAlbum $19.95

not really my style, but interesting.

I just file mine in folders by subject and have them all in one folder. I use Windows XP so I can view in a filmstrip or large icon style, so I don't use an additional program to manage my photos.

I use either Photoshop or a Broderbund product for LO's and when I go to import a picture, I see it there in the gallery or folder file.

But that doesn't address your other issues. I know some people use Powerpoint, but not everyone has that.

Let us know what you end up selecting.

I bet you've probably found a program already but I love using adobe photoshop album. There is a starter edition that is free...

I have over 6000 pics on my computer. They are divided into folders by year then by month. Then imported into the album. In the program you can tag the photos with who is in it, where it was taken, etc. Then when you want to find all the pics with you and your husband in it all you have to do is click the tag and then it pulls up all of them.

I love it and best of all it is free--if you wanted to pay for it there are a few additional features but I haven't felt the need to have them. :D

I just got Picasa too (free from Google). It is really great! I am organizing my digital scrap stuff with it and then I hope to organize photos also. But it has a lot of features and my hubby (computer geek) even mentioned he had heard about it and that it was considered one of the better ones.
