Mikelle
Thanks for a great chat, everyone! We talked about what inspires us to scrap, and discussed some ways to get creativity flowing when our mojo abandons us. Below are a few visual aid prompts: Your challenge is to scrap a layout using one (or more) of these prompts. We have a color palette, a mood board, and two vintage advertisements to help inspire you. Choose any aspect of any of the four to use as inspiration for your layout - the possibilities are endless! When you are finished with your layout, upload it to the DSD 2019 Gallery, and come back to this thread to leave a link. As an alternate to the four visual prompts, here is a task list you can follow to create a layout - following a task list is another way to get over a dry scrapping spell: 1. Choose two photos for your layout - one will be large, one small. 2. Pick three papers to use, and blend two of them together for your background. 3. Find a photo mask to use for the photo you chose as your larger photo, and clip that photo to the mask; place the masked photo where you'd like on your background. 4. Orient the smaller photo on your layout so that it overlaps the larger masked photo in some way. 5. Use the third paper as a matte behind the smaller photo. 6. Place 6 to 8 unique embellishments on your layout; try to make a cluster, if possible. Include at least one button. 7. Use a brush in some way. 8. Place your title and/or journaling, using two different fonts, or using one font and one alpha. 9. Add any finishing touches, date your layout, and upload! Celestine
Thanks for organizing the chat, Mikelle. I was inspired by the colors of brown, black, orange and yellow in the mood board, plus I wanted to go in a vintage looking direction. Here is Better Together. Mikelle
Thanks for participating in the chat and/or challenge everyone! I finally got my own layout done, too: Christmas Beads I used the color palette, and followed the task list to create the layout. I used two small photos instead of one, though.
