January 2020 Recipe Swap

Recommended Posts

Angie has amazing new things in store for the recipe swap this year!!  Thank you, Angie!

First, each month you participate you will receive a gift certificate to the design shop!  The first month you participate (January) you will receive $1, the second month (February) $2 and so on.  If you miss the third month (March) and participate in the fourth month (April) you would receive $3 and so on.

Second, we will have a challenge each quarter.  Do you try recipes you receive in the swap in your kitchen at home?  At the end of each quarter, you will be challenged to create a layout including a recipe and card from the swap that you have tried. It can’t be your recipe and card!!  Each person who does a layout will be in a drawing for a $5 gift certificate.

But wait, there is more!!  Everyone that participates EVERY month and EACH quarter challenge will be in a drawing for a $15 gift certificate at the end of the year.

This month's recipe swap theme is Air Fryer, Instant Pot, Slow Cooker.  Did you get a new air fryer or instant pot for Christmas?  Please share your favorite recipes!

To participate in the Recipe Swap, please email your 4"x6" high resolution (300 dpi saved a high quality - (1200 x 1800 pixel) Recipe Card to sg.sodscrap@gmail.com by MIDNIGHT, Friday, January 31, 2020.
  • PLEASE REMEMBER THIS: It is easiest for me if you use your name or user name + the Recipe name (SodScrap_YummyFood) as the file name on your recipe. (I may change it to make it easier for me to track if you don't.)
  • You are welcome to submit more than one recipe. Please do!
  • Please post your recipe in the Recipe Card Gallery and post a link in this thread.
  • After I have compiled the recipes, you will receive a link to download the recipe cards from all our participants. You must send in a card to get the link!  Please remember the link is active for 7 days.

Exciting new prizes, wow!   I’ll be looking for recipes to scrap, thanks Conda (& Angie, too!).  :)

The prizes sound wonderful! Thanks for sponsoring SG and Conda!

I don't own an air fryer or an instant pot - just a plain old slow cooker that I received as a wedding gift over 31 years ago. This is a recipe I found long ago (source unknown), and it made a great meal for our family. It is very simple, and made with common pantry items. We like the flavor. In fact, I made it over Christmas when my DS was home for a few days. Here is Tangy Pork Roast.

Oh this is great! I got an instant pot for Christmas... I’ve just done the water thingy they said to do first, so I’m going to look for a good recipe.

I love this challenge and love the added bonus :)  I don't use my crockpot so much these days so I'll dig and old one out of my collection :)

I admit the thought of the prizes has me contributing. :D But I do love to try new recipes, too.
I don't own a slow cooker, instant pot or air fryer, but I got my recipe from a cook book whose recipes were gathered from neighbors, and I'm sure they only contributed recipes they loved, so, hopefully, this is a good one.

HERE and HERE is my recipe card. It's the very first meal I made in my InstantPot. SkinON chicken tastes better than sinless. I'm going to try and make my own Yogurt next.

Here's another recipe. French Lentils with Swiss Chard

I didn't have chard but I did have kale so used that. I did not like this as well as I thought I would. I think there was too much mustard for me. My husband thought it was great. Unless he asks for it I probably will not make again.

Thanks, everyone, for the great recipes. I put them in my Google Docs folder so that I can access them off my phone at the grocery story. Deliciousness at my fingertips!
