Mikelle
Welcome to Leap Day 2020! ? February 29th comes around only once every four years - will you be doing anything special today? Do you have any Leap Day traditions, or memories from past Leap Days? For our challenge this weekend, I would like to focus on Leap Year: Find photos to scrap that were taken during a past Leap Year, or find an event to scrap about that took place during a Leap Year. The photo/event doesn’t even have to be personal for you, it can be historical, such as a WWI battle in 1916, or in 1976 the Concorde made its first commercial flight and Apple Computer Company was established. The photos only have to be from the year, not specifically on Leap Day, although if you can manage to find some actually taken on a Leap Day, even better! Once you have created your layout, upload it to the Weekend Wildcard Challenge Gallery, then come back to this thread and post a link to your layout so we can all admire it. For a little more information on Leap Day, I found a quick read at this link: Leap Day Customs. For your convenience, here is a list of past Leap Years back to 1900: 2016, 2012, 2008, 2004, 2000, 1996, 1992, 1988, 1984, 1980, 1976, 1972, 1968, 1964, 1960, 1956, 1952, 1948, 1944, 1940, 1936, 1932, 1928, 1924, 1920, 1916, 1912, 1908, 1904, 1900. Mikelle
I will be back at some point today with my layout - I'm looking for specific photos I know I have somewhere, just can't find them!
MariJ
This is such a great challenge, Mikelle! I started looking through my photos and have a layout idea! I probably won’t finish it today, but I’ve started collecting photos and journaling.
Celestine
Thanks for the interesting challenge, Mikelle! I went back and looked at the oldest family photos to find the earliest leap year image I possessed. When I was dating these last fall, I estimated this was taken in 1912 based on Joe's approximate age. Here is Circa 1912.

Jane in N.Z
I was in the UK in 2012 and went to watch Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee River Pageant in LOndon with my DD. It was a cold wet drizzly day on June 3rd but we had an amazing time. Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee
MariJ
Mikelle, I really enjoyed this challenge because as I went searching for Leap Day photos I found lots of others around that day that told a story. So, my page ended up a diary of those two weeks - with a Leap Day photo in the middle! Took me awhile, but here’s mine -Leap Day 2016
Mikelle
Here's my layout, finally... I never did find the photos I was looking for, but I found some great photos of my DH when he was a baby, in 1968, so I scrapped one of those! April Showers
Love the topic. My mom, my sister, my first daughter, one granddaughter and I were all born in leap years. I'm thinking I could do a fun layout of that. I know I won't have time to, but I wish I did!
