Cherry47
[font=Comic Sans Ms][size=6]Hello fellow Scrap Girls, I downloaded the curvy page layout and I can't get it to work right. I tried the instruction that came along with the layout but it still doesn't work for me. Is there anywhere out there that I can get a tutorial on page layouts. I bought Ro's book but I'm using PSE 5 and things are a little different and its downloaded on desktop at home and I'm at my daughters 9 hrs away. I don't even remember whether there was a tutorial on full page layouts. That's what I get for trying to take short cuts instead of learning like I suppose to. So if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Cherry47

ScrapGirlsRo
Hi Cherry, The commands for PSE 4 and PSE 5, particularly those that you would use on the templates, are exactly the same. (In fact, I just retested it again, just to make SURE before I answered this post.) The tutorials that come with the layouts work perfectly, too. I suspect that you may be in the wrong viewing mode, which can cause problems and will give you the feeling that things aren't working correctly. Make sure that you are in the Cascade Windows mode rather than Automatically Tile or Maximize Windows mode. This is critical and can cause all sorts of problems. If you will look at the pre-movie tutorial PDF, you will see that I go over this well. I spent a lot of time going over the templates - ALL of the templates (layouts, paper, embellishments, alphas) - in More Scrapbook Secrets and you see me demonstrate key points over and over and over again. If you are a visual learner, this may help you a lot. Just make SURE you are in the Cascade Windows Mode! (Look up at the top right of your window. There are three tiny icons. Mouse of them and you will find it. It is the one to the far left.)

When I logged on and saw that you had responded, I yelled "Oh My, I got a respond from Ro. I was so excited. My husband asked "Who's Ro?" I said the lady who wrote the training book. He said "What training book". I didn't even answer him because I was too busy reading your respond. I finally was able to use the templates. I went to the link that Happy99 sent me to in the University area and was able to figure it out. I did find out that that when I lay the template down, it has to be in the exact position you want it in before you cut your paper because it can't be moved after you've cut the paper. I worked on my layout last night and need to add a few more embellishments on it before I am satisfied with it. I completely ignored your tip about saving your layout ever so often because when I was about to stop for the night, my computer locked up on me. I just closed my laptop and decided to deal with it today. I thought all the hard work I had done was lost when I remembered something I use in another online area which is Alt Y and it cleared up the lock and I was able to save my layout. I just love this site and all the nice ladies that help you out whenever you have a problem. Thank you all so much. I hope one day I can make beautiful layouts like everybody else. I will not give up. Have a Happy Holiday Season. Cherry
