Guest siraacsa
I got mine as an early Christmas present in November. You'll absolutely love it. There is so much to learn but I am determined to try to get myself off Auto mode.
ScrappingForever
I highly recommend dinny's e-book. I took her class, which is what the e-book is, and learned so much. It helped so much to have separate chapters for each of the different camera functions, and specific assignments to help me practice that function! Good luck and have fun! needmath
I also recommend Dinny's book. I purchased it the other day and read through it. I do wish there were specific assignments with the book, though!! There's a thought for an appendix for a future issue!
dinny
the assignments were given with the online class. I removed them from the eBook. I'll have to think of a way to put the assignments together! Let me think on that one.
Guest Teresa P
Rachael... I use Aperture Priority for most of my shots and is a great step away from auto! You control the depth of field (f-stop) which can dramatically change a photo! The only thing to really really play with f-stop is have a lens that lets you drop it down to 1.8 or 2.8. There is a great 50mm 1.8 for like $99. that I started with and it lived on my camera until I upgraded to a 35mm 1.8 and a 50mm 1.4... if you search www.bhphotovideo.com you will see them. Just in case you have extra Christmas cash around.
