Tuesday Challenge 3/8/2022

Today's challenge is to use plaid in your layout. Did you know that plaid is also known as tartan?  Tartans are weaves alternating bands woven at right angles, while "plaid" originally referred to the heavy woolen clothes that bore this pattern. Scots would use them as blankets or would sling them over their shoulders. When tartan crossed the sea to the New World, "plaid" and tartan became synonymous.  (Source) 

For my page, I used plaid as the background. I wanted to show my photo of the pier a bit differently, so I clipped it onto a piece of drift wood and erased the edges with a textured brush to make it look like it was painted onto the driftwood.  The plaid provided color and texture to the page.
