I am so excited for tonight! Join me at 9pm EST for a Art Inspiration Challenge Crop in the Scrap Girls Chat Room!

As I have shared before, one of my favorite places for scrapbook layout inspiration is non-scrapbook related artwork. I look at the colors, the texture, the shapes, the overall design. Below you will find a link to the art I selected for this months Art Inspired Challenge. Take a look at it. What inspiration can you take from it? The challenge is to let this art inspire you in at least one way -- and then use this inspiration in creating a layout or other project (a card, perhaps?). Simply find one ore more parts of it (colors, shapes, textures, style, etc.) to incorporate into your layout or card.

I am sharing the artwork with you now so you can get a headstart on the challenge. Feel free to start working on it now, during the crop, or even after. Your goal is to complete the challenge by January 18. Post your art inspired creation in the gallery here:
http://scrapgirls.co...h...d=sc&cat=45
And then, if you are able, post a link here in this thread to your work, so that we can be sure to see what you've created and leave you some great comments.

Here's the artwork -- World of Circles:

See you in the chat room!

Wow, that artwork would make great paper! :D I love the rich colors in there (especially the way the brown and the little bit of pink are blended). I'm definitely going to try to make it to the crop. This should be fun!

This was pretty tough. Had a hard time deciding if I was more inspired by the colors or the circles. Not being in an orange mood, I went for the circles.

Right now I am really into more spring-y colors and this art really has a more Autumn look. So the colors don't really do it for me, but for some reason I am REALLY drawn to circles so I just had to pick this art. It would be fun to have this as a scrapbook paper! Glad that so many of you liked it...can't wait to see what you come up with.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who attended the crop tonight! I had so much fun -- you all had me really "laughing out loud" -- my daughter was at the computer next to me and kept looking over me to see what I was laughing at.

I am also really enjoying all the different ways you have adapted the artwork to your layout! Great work everyone!

This challenge is still open -- read the first post in this thread to find out what we are all talking about!

Sorry I missed the crop, I decided to take a little nap and slept for quite awhile. This is a lovely piece of art. Very inspiring. I decided to play with both the shapes and the colors so I could use my new collections. I mounted the photo's as squares so that the circle theme did not become to overpowering. Hope you like it.

Am I doing to literal a translation of this? I notice that other people are just using a general idea of the page.
Should I make mine more general from now on?

Stacey, you can do your page any way you want. You can just pick colors from the art, or the circles or whatever inspires you. I think you did a great job on the challenge

I used a tutorial in Photoshop Creative to reate my LO. The art for this challenge made me want to dig into that tutorial!
