Mindy
Is there a way to create an actual text box in PSE 3? I'd love to be able to do word wrap (like in Word) so when I change a font or size of a font, I don't have to manually put in the returns to indicate the end of the line and then keep changing/moving them each time I adjust the font. Don't know if I explained that correctly!
DDecker
If there is Mindy I have not found it! When I am journaling something big I do it in a word text box and then copy and paste into PSP or PSE! HTH and maybe someone else will have an idea for us! Guest Sharebear57
I don't know about PSE3, but in PSE4 and 5, you just activate the text tool and then click and drag to create a text box.
MichaelsMomJo
PSE3 is the same. Just hold down the mouse button and drag until the box is the size you want it.
satippetts
I also didn't know this, till I just accidently found it out one day. It was also driving me nuts with all those returns. So just dragging the text icon works beautiful and makes life so much easier!
DDecker
I can't get my PSE3 to do it! LOL I wonder what I am doing wrong!
Mindy
OK, I'll try that in a smidge (guess I'd better do the good mom thing quick first, like put supper in the crockpot and throw laundry in - drats!).
Mindy
I couldn't get mine to work either. I clicked the text button and then clicked on the document & tried dragging the mouse, but nothing happened. I tried clicking every different way that I could think of! Hmmmm.... maybe if I stand on my head while clicking & dragging, maybe that will help??? Seriously, I must be doing something wrong!
Guest Sharebear57
That is so wierd! I wish I could help, but I don't have PSE3. It sounds like Jo does, maybe she can offer some advice about what the problem might be for you, Mindy and Dee.
Mindy
I even tried Ro's suggestion for the person having problems loading styles - hit control, alt and shift when starting the edit pictures (in PSE), just in case that would enable me to make text boxes. That worked in resetting the program, but still can't make a text box no matter what I try!!!
Guest siraacsa
I have PSE5 and 3 installed on my computer. I can create a text box with 5 but not with 3, so it must not be a functionality in 3. What a shame cause it does make life so much easier. Sorry girls.
needmath
I never was able to do it either. Text boxes is one of the things that prompted me to upgrade to 5.0!
Guest DarleneH
I have heard from someone I know who teached PSE that version 3 WON'T allow text boxes, but the later versions will. Like Sherri said, you activate the text tool and click and drag the size box or area you want your text to be in. The outline of the box will not be visible, however, but it will confine the text to that area.
MeredithMcB
This is a GREAT feature of PSE 5 for me (had PSE3). I would not have even thought to look for it until I read this post! This makes it SO much easier to work with journaling. Thanks!
