Ro's book is a big hit, go into the University, too. I'm same as Betsy, I use Photoshop, although I do know Broderbund's The Print Shop, and CK Scrapbook Designer Deluxe really well. They are both inexpensive and perfect for beginners, and I find them easier than Word, myself.

Keep us posted!
[post="5880"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]
I received broderbund's CK scrapbook Designer Deluxe and also a Canon Power shot A85 for x-mas and so far I have only used it for background paper,embelishment,and journaling stuff all to print out and use for my paper scrapbooks. I have many pictures from my EOS Canon Rebel that I need to put to good use.I have removed all photos from those old magnetic sticky albums a few years back when I brought my interest in scrapbooking to a new level and learned all about "acid free" everything.
So, this brings me to wanting to get into Digital. My DH wants to shoot me but is supportive as long as I "finish what I start". So now I guess I just have to build up my digital pics and am already confused on where to put them and put into sub categories and hoping they are in the correct format to share and print and incorperate into my software.WOW overload. Oh,did I mention that I also have PSP studio. (Came with computer package.) Now back to my original question, is it possible to post layouts done on my CK scrapbook designer into the gallery? I did try and had no luck. What am I missing?
Also, do i need a scanner to post my paper pages (i don't have one and know nothing about them) I think i have a lot of the right stuff here ,but my brain is spinning. Any input would be welcome.
:wobbly-eyes: Thanks , Diane

You can take a digital photo of your paper pages and post them to the gallery. There are lots of tips and ricks to getting a good photo, such as using as much natural light as you can (no flash) and shooting the page from straight on.

You can absolutely post PSP or CK Scrap Deluxe layouts to the gallery. You just need to save a SMALLER version than what you are working in - a computer screen only sees about 72 dpi ( and you're probably working in 300 dpi to print, right?) Since the large file size takes up too much space on the website's servers, we are each limited in the amount of space we can take up. Each LO can only be 100 Kbs. So you need to go to Edit>Image size, and change the DPI to 72, then change the file's inches down to a reasonable size (I think most people convert their LOs to about 600x600 at 72 dpi.

If your programs have "Save for Web" under File, that's an easier option. You can change your image size to 72 dpi, then go to Save for Web and change the size.

This is generally pretty confusing stuff, so if you don't get it, let us know, and someone else (hopfully someone with experience in your program) can help. Sometimes, hearing it in different words makes more sense, you know?

HTH!

In CK Scrapbook Designer, go to File/Export As and a menu will pop up, scroll down to jpeg, name and save. This program automatically defaults to 72dpi (if I remember correctly---it was a problem for prepress production, but nothing the end user needed to worry about).

It imports things (like a 12 x 12 background) at weird sizes, even though it is 12 x 12, and you have a 12 x 12 scrapbook page set up, it comes in smaller and yo need to scale it.

I have to be out of the studio all day today, but I'll try to make something in this program and show you. Look for it next week.
