You might check it out... angela um.. never mind it was 186 dollars ... but its western digital, they are the best of hard drives. I think I've figured it out - the ones I've had problems with are the ones that are 120 gig and up... UNLESS the drive has a separate power source. If it does, that seems to be fine. I know of a few people who have also had EHDs that crashed. I think it has to do with not getting enough power. And yes, my laptop and desktop are both plugged in while using the drives.
