Tools And Brushes

I'm quite new to digital scrapping. Please, can someone answer my question? I just bought the Brushes for Photoshop e-book by Shalae Tippetts and I thought I was understanding it quite well, but then I went to shop in the boutique for some brushes, and found tools. What is the difference between brushes and tools?? What am I missing? I'll really appreciate your answers. Thanks already!

Mer, if you type in "Brushes" (with a capital B, but without the quotation marks) you should be able to find a ton of brushes that you can use to try out Shalae's eBook with. The difference between brushes and tools is that brushes can be used as stamps, to erase, and to mask. Tools are basically actions that are automated that you can use to add inked edges, drop shadows, paper styles and more to things. If you're going with Shalae's book, then you want brushes, not tools. HTH!! I'm sure there will be someone else along to answer your question better than I can! :D

That's interesting that we think of the word in different ways. I call each of the icons that we click on to use a "tool." For instance, we have the Move Tool, the Brush Tool, the Gradient Tool, etc.

I think what Laura is referring to is Scrapgirls "ScrapSimple" tools, available for purchase in the boutique. :)
