angleigh
2 years ago when I got my Kodak my husband wanted me to get a DSLR, but I didn't want to spend the money when I didn't know which camera I really wanted. So I've been looking for about a year now. Recently I read about the new Sony A100. From everything i've read it got some really great reviews..but the plus was it was able to use the older Minolta lenses (since Sony bought Minolta's camera business) You see my dad has an older film SLR and about 4 really nice Minolta lenses plus alot of other "extras" that I could use. So Saturday after we took the boys to get new shoes (off subject..but can you believe my 5 yr olds wear size 4.5!!) we went to Best Buy to try out one of the old lenses. I think my eyes lit up when I saw they really did work, and once I held the camera that was it...I was in love. So we're walking out of the store, almost to the door and I hear. "Do you just want to get it" at that point in time I think I turned into my boys, or worse! So i'm trying to act all cool "what ?" So my sweet, loving, generous, adorable husband (it's it funny when they buy you something you really want..their names get longer and longer LOL) told me if I wanted it I could have it, it would be my anniversay gift this year (it'll be 7 years on the 25th) A few short moments later and a little damage to the debit card I walked out of the store a very happy person! I've got to play with it a little bit..and so far I LOVE it! angleigh
Cool Theresa! I'm glad to know someone with the same camera. Now I just wish I could get some time to play with it. By the time I got home Saturday night and waited for the battery to charge it was to dark to really go outside with it. I played some indoors, and it does take much better pictures then my old camera did. Then yesterday we were gone most of the day and by the time I got home and cleaned up some I was just to tired. Now it's dark and overcast and the boys are at school..but I have faith one of these days i'll be able to get out there and really play with it..and I can't wait! jennk
Congratulations on you new baby! I remember when I got my DSLR for Christmas. I was estatic! It took me several months to figure it all out. It helped that I went on a retreat soon after I got it. I took my camera books and camera and just enjoyed playing around with it. Have fun! angleigh
Thanks gals..I actually got to play a little bit outside today and took tons of pictures. But does it count if it was of wall, grass, running kids, etc. Anything that didn't (or did) move. Of course 99% will be deleted..but it was just fun to play with it!
