Does anyone have any ideas for my son's bedroom walls? We got him sheets and blankets with planets, but they didn't have anything for the wall to match. I'm not really crafty or patient so painting walls won't work well, I was kinda hoping to make something digitally and maybe printing it and sticking it on the wall. That's more my speed! Would love any ideas anyone might have. :)
My Gallery - CC always appreciated. :)

They make sticker paper with the same adhesive they use on post-its (so it won't ruin walls). That might be one idea. You could also take your art work to the public library to be laminated (most libraries have a machine- and are cheaper than going to a print shop). If your library doesn't have one, check out a local college library. they would definately have one.

Have you seen the really cool glow in the dark plantes and stars? They have those at most craft stores (and toy stores for that matter).

HTH!

You could always frame scrapbooking paper that matches the theme! three or four of the same frame in a straight line looks awesome!

You should try getting some ceiling star stickers. I know for sure you can get them from spencers (generally in most malls) That would be very neat for him!!
I had some in my room as a kid. My mom didnt stop at the corners of the ceiling, but went down a bit. As i feel asleep, it was almost a curved look... like i was in space

You can get sticker paper that won't damage your walls. Make the general shapes of planets and stars, fill with digital paper that matches the patterns, colors, etc. Print, cut and you have instant wall stickers. Print panels, cut straight and you have a matching border.

ok - now that we know we are staying here in Little Rock, I am going to do a Space theme for my son... We are painting his room a dark blue (almost navy), placing glowing stars on ceiling and 1/4 of the way down the wall. We have photos from NASA of different planets that I will frame. Along with photos from Space Camp. We have shelves that he will have his lego space ships, rockets that he has made, etc on for additional decorations. We will place the little white Christmas lights at the crown molding line around his room as witht he baseboard to keep it bright enough along with hislamp and ceiling fan light. We saw a ceiling fam at Home Depot or Lowes that had planets on it but I don't know if dh will let me get it. Then we are making together a hanging solar system out of foam balls, they have this as a craft kit at Michaels. His telescope is set up at his window but easily accessible to go out side with it.

Anyway, that is what we are doing hopefully this summer. I may have to incorporate Mars into the theme a little bigger and ds says he will be the second man on Mars... has actually said that since he was 4 and now he is 7 1/2.

Some good ideas, thanks... I think I'll look into the foam model, that might be fun to have! I'm not sure how thrilled DH will be about stickers, we've bought those wall stickers before (pre-designed) and they tend to fall off fairly fast. And the glowie stars will be a big hit, I never even thought about those, TYA! :)

I used a bunch of my old scrapbooking paper and cut letters out of them (pretty much just printed the outline of a particular font on each page to use as a cutting guide). I ended up with a really fun multi colored alphabet and some numbers to border my son's room. I also covered them in contact paper so that they would last longer. For my daughter we bought these beautiful alphabet wall cards that have the alphabet and a flower corresponding to that letter of the alphabet. We used sticky tack for both projects and it seemed to work fine.

I was wanting to do the boy's names in spacey type letters, was going to print jumbo sized ones and use the contact paper to strengthen them. Anyone know of any spacey type paper and a good font?

Hello friends! First of all I must say sorry to you all as I owe something to you people and then again would like to offer my gratitude for making my problems easier and letting me get a solution at last. Actually a long time ago it was this thread that made me design or decorate the bedroom for my son and since then I simply lost the address of this place so I could not thank you people. So as you can see I may have joined late here but the thanks was owed long before. My son is loving it and it is all because I got the idea from this place itself.
