Becca
I've had PSE 5 installed for over a month now, but I keep going back to my comfort zone in PSP. But this morning's newsletter was full of actions for PSE, and a friend of mine on a non-scrapping group just created a PSE Eye Pop action (she's charging a HUGE fee for this, though). So I'm curious...how easy are these actions to use? Is it something a newbie could do easily? Are they difficult to install?
DDecker
VERY easy to use and install! The directions are in the download. If you can use filters and effects in PSP you can use actions! Let us know if you need help!
jennk
Glad to read this. I didn't think you could do "actions" in PSE. I need to go read the newsletter!! Jenn

OK, just went to scan the newsletter but didn't see what you were referring to. Can you point out what you are talking about? Thanks!
KellyChron
I LOVE actions. Just copy them to the correct folder and Ta-Da! You have new actions (just like the standard drop shadows) to use. I hardly do a LO any more with out using at least one of my SG actions... ~Kel
satippetts
Are you meaning styles? Styles can easily be used in PSE - but actions can not - as you can not run an action in PSE. All the styles and things we have such as rust, drop shadows, embedding, metals, plastics etc, all of those can work great in pse... but actions are completely different, and they will not work as actions in PSE. jennk
Thanks. I didn't think you could do actions in PSE. I do love all the styles though! Jenn
KellyChron
Yes, I mean styles....although I would love to have all those groovy "photo's that pop" work for PSE.
Becca
So actions are for CS2 and styles are for PSE? Now I'm confused, too. I guess I thought they were interchangeable?
Meisie
There are some actions that are made to work in PSE or at least do work in PSE5, but on some I do get error messages (and then they don't work and yet some work ins pite of the error messages)...still the ones that work are great I got some freebies from PanosFX on the net....which reminds me that I should ask why some don't work... Meisie The reason prolly is .. because the software price & in fairness to photoshop you pay considerable less money for pse5 than the "big program" cs2 & it would not be fair to give you all the goodies for a smaller cost. & they want you to spend for the cs2 program to get the goodies. satippetts
Some actions require effects or options that are not available in Elements. So when the action plays and needs the next step buy elements does not have that option available it can not complete the request and so is says there's an error. Style can work with elements, and there are some actions that can work if it was created origionally with options that were available in PSE.
