I've never done a calendar on the wall, sounds like it would be a great idea to do just that considering our calendars end up being so full one month we use up the next months as well which gets pretty confusing at times. Also, considering Cola has this fascination with coloring on the walls, hubby and I have been debating over this for some time now. I think it would be neat to do this around our sink, which appears to be Cola's most favorite place to color regardless of how many coloring books we buy her, it would be so much easier than having to clean the other walls on a daily basis, however, hubby feels it would tell her it's okay to color on the walls. Either way, she continues coloring on the walls and I myself would much rather clean chalk than crayon, marker, colroed pencil, permanent markers etc. Think I may try this out on a piece of scrap wood and see how it goes on there before doing any larger area just to be on the safe side just in case. Adding it to my list of everything to try/do. TFS!

To have a friend is to have a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold and an extra pair of legs when yours are too weak to stand alone...

I have been living buried in books and writing classes... as an added note I must say that it is rather scary when you start dreaming and all you can see within your dreams is words floating everywhere!

Wow what an idea... I have used chalk board paint to make "kitchen menu" message boards which turned out cute... can make the cutout any shape you want ie, dog, cat, rooster, etc.

Let us know... getting ideas for your new home???
Have a Great Day!!!

That looks really cool! If we had a house of our own, I'd definitely try it. But, I don't think the landlord would really appreciate it, lol! :)

Valerie...I've also seen this done with a child's sized table being painted with the chalkboard paint, so the whole table becomes a chalkboard. Of course, that might not mean anything to Cola if she loves the walls for artistic expression!

CC--yes, that's exactly what I am thinking! :) But I am going to be renting and while the owners of the home have given me permission to paint, I don't know if I will...I hate the idea of spending the time/money when it's not my own home. I was considering, though, if I could do something like this that I would make it more temporary...a big sheet of wood or something that I could hang up and take down when I move.

I need to think of a way to adapt this for our rental. My son loves to "express himself" on the walls and it's driving me bonkers!!!

What a neat idea. I love that you can create your own colour. This could be very handy in our community hall where we sometimes have overflow classes and the room has stone walls.

Thanks.
