Getting Elements Onto Layout

I posted earlier about problems with templates, thought it was isolated to templates. I was wrong....

I open a blank file to create a LO, size it 12x12 with 300dpi. I open any coordinating 12x12 papers or embelishments I might want to use and put them into my photo bin. When I click on any of them and drag them to my LO they reduce in size. If I open directly from my LO using file: open they will be the correct size. Problem with that is I want to see all my elements in the photo bin before I decide which I want to add.

Hope that makes sense, any suggestions???

Can I ask are the papers/embellishments you are using also 300dpi. I know that there is a site that sells their product as 200dpi and as such does what you are describing above. If this is not the case, then I am sorry but I don't know what the problem could be. Good luck.

On everything I add to my LO I have to grab a corner and drag to the size I want, its a pain! Especially when I want uniformity in sizes, like 3 squares the same size. I know I can duplicate the layer but I was using a template and every element of it had to be resized therefore making it a more difficult than it needed to be! And every picture I have cropped to the perfect size reduces needing resizing.

thanks guys!
