Torn Edges Templates

I have been playing with Dinny's SS Embellishment Templates: Torn Edges. I can get both layers torn and lined up with no problem. My question is when I do the clipping mask - the final piece ends up being a couple of inches wide. What if I want the paper with a tear on it say.... 8 inches wide (for example)? I tried dragging the piece, but that just made the pattern of the paper and the tear too distorted. I know there's a really simple answer that I'll say DUH once I hear it!!! :hit-head-with-hammer::dunno:

Mindy, here's what you can do (basic directions for Photoshop):

With your two layers lined up, increase the size of your canvas to the size you want.

Make sure you are on the top layer in the layers palette

Drag the marquee tool to be the size you want

Dump color into the selected area (option delete will fill with the foreground color)

Now your area is larger and you should be able to make your clipping mask.

Hope that makes sense! I've got a tutorial using these Torn Templates coming in the newsletter next week. Keep an eye out for it!
