External Hd

Hi, I have an external HD, we have alot of games and photos and now scrapbooking stuff on it. But we plug it into my laptop and use it that way. I had a thought...is it possible to network it into my computers, I have a desktop and a laptop and I am networked as my desktop is the main computer.... and I can be wireless and access those files if needed. So could I hook it up with my desktop and still be wireless. It is a pain to plug into it if I want to sit on the couch or someting. There must be a way. My husband just looked at me annoyed that I needed him to do this. And I know some of you have computer wizards in your houses. Can you ask or if you know let me know!

the only way is to have it in the Shared Folders. Try creating a shortcut in that folder and you should be able to get at the HD that way Good Luck hope it helps

I thought there was a way. Thanks. I don't mind putting it in the shared folders. Does anyone else do this? It seems it would be more convienent.

I can't see why you couldn't network it like any other drive on your PC. I don't do it myself cause our data transfer speed is not up to transferring large files such as my psd files over the network which is quite annoying.

Thanks. I got it hooked up. No more wires! I had to look it up on the internet how to do it but it was easy.
