MelJohnson
I'm making my first accordion album to submit for publication and was wondering if anyone has any advice on how exactly to do it. It's a 5x7 album with eight page sections. I'm fairly confident that I can handle the interior pages but I'm wondering about the best way to approach the cover. If I trim my cover art to the exact same size as the card, do I just glue it on there? Do you do anything to the edges to make them more finished? For example, would it be a good idea to wrap the cover completely with one paper and then attach a slightly smaller version of the cover art to it on the front and a bookplate type piece to the inside cover? Any insights would be appreciated since this is my first attempt. Thanks! Mel
Artsy22
I've tried a few different things for covers. I've done as you suggest, wrapping the base with paper and then adhering a cover on top. I've also cut a cover the exact size and then just kind of sanded down the edges, giving it a rougher look. I've also pasted on the cover and then painted the edges, letting the paint overlap onto the cover a bit. I like all three ways.
ScrappingForever
Yeah, what Mandy said! LOL It really depends on what look you're going for, I guess. Good luck!
