  1. New Collection - Need Your Help!

    22 February 2013 - 01:32 PM

OK, scrapper friends. After designing my color bright All You Need Collection, I thought I would give my eyes a little rest. So I've started work on something with a soft, monotone color palette. I thought shades of soft blush would be nice. But it still needs a bit of a pop of color. I'm not sure which color I'd like. I thought I'd ask you! What do you think?

  2. Do You Want A Sneaky Peek?

    17 December 2012 - 07:39 AM

I've been working on this for some time and I just haven't been able to get it finished. I'm working like the dickens to finish it up for this week. Would you like a peek? Here it is!

  3. Prayer For Connecticut

    15 December 2012 - 06:59 AM

I spent yesterday distracted by preparations for my DH's birthday party last night. I knew what had happened, but my distraction kept me from focusing on it. I'm devoting today to prayer and reflection - and I offer this prayer. Please join with me with a simple amen or your own words.

    Gracious God,

We lift to you those who are suffering as a result of this terrible shooting. We just cannot understand how people can do this to one another, especially innocent children in a setting in which they are supposed to be safe. Lord, this turns everything upside down for us! We even question you - wondering how you can allow such awful things to happen. But in our pleas and anguish, we remember that there are those who do not chose the path of peace and turn their hurt and anger into violence against your children, their own brothers and sisters.

So we ask you now, have mercy on us. We call upon your promise, "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18) Be present among the families who suffer pain and unbearable heartache at the loss of their spouse, children, siblings, cousins. Be present with the friends of these families who do not know what to say or do to give comfort, and are suffering themselves. Give guidance to those are in the position to help, using their hands and feet as your own. Help them to trust You as their God of hope. Fill them with Your comfort, peace, and hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We praise you in the midst of all of this. You help us to bring light where there is darkness, healing where there is brokenness, and peace to all of the earth's inhabitants. Guide us all through these dark days and bring your light to our lives, so that we may see your goodness, even in our mourning.

    Amen
  4. October Atc Challenge And Swap

    05 October 2012 - 01:47 PM

Did you see Melanie Cockshott's article in the October 3rd Newsletter? Here's a link if you missed it: October is Positive Attitude Month. Take a moment to read it and look at the cards she made with positive affirmations. This month, I'd like to challenge you to make a card with a positive affirmation. I'll collect them all and send them out to all participants, then we'll all have a collection of little cards to use!

You have until next month to complete the challenge and you can do as many as you like. I will be away the first week of November, so I'm extending the regular deadline by a week. Cards are due Wednesday, November 14. Post your ATC in the ATC Challenge & Swap gallery. Then email a full resolution to me at scrapgirl.elisha@gmail.com. I will post a new challenge on Friday, November 16.

  5. September Atc Challenge And Swap

    09 September 2012 - 07:35 AM

This month we're continuing with the "about me" series. This month, it's

    My Inheritance

I'm away from home, visiting my mom in my old home town. I have my laptop on the dining room table, and I'm looking at the china buffet, with my mom's china and collectible dishes. Many of them I expect to inherit someday. That got me thinking about our little ATC challenge. What have you inherited/expect to inherit from a loved one? Can you capture it in a little ATC? It can be something tangible like china, or something not so tangible, like your blue eyes or a particular mannerism. How about a characteristic or a value like a hard work ethic?

You have until next month to complete the challenge and you can do as many as you like. Cards are due Wednesday, October 3. Post your ATC in the ATC Challenge & Swap gallery. Then email a full resolution to me at scrapgirl.elisha@gmail.com. I will post a new challenge on Friday, October 5.

Thanks so much, Elisha! Also, I am so glad you noticed the extra frame and also the added touch of blue for the flow, which was my exact "intent." And, for some reason one of my stitches "re-stitched" itself on top of the ribbon, which I have corrected. Sewing gremlins, I guess. Such a fun club!! Thanks again!

Thanks for your kind comments on my Christmas card. I was worried for a second about the pop of blue comment, I thought my background was peeking through somewhere. Hope you and yours have a blessed Christmas. I loved the little lamb layout.

Love your new Silent Night products and the gorgeous LO’s you did to show them in use. I have your Silent Night brush set but haven’t used it yet. Now you’ve given me some lovely ideas for Christmas layouts!
