In Topic: Organizing-will This Work?

I'm afraid I will have to agree with everyone on this one, Windows and Mac work very differently and it's not likely that shortcuts set up on one will work on the other. It's a blue-eyed miracle that you can get data from one to the others these days. That didn't used to be the case. For years I kept my ancient Mac so I wouldn't loose the old data when I moved to PC.

That said, I have heard rumors that you can set up a Windows bootable partition on Macs these days (or maybe it's a Windows emulation). If you were to set that up and run Windows on the Mac, your shortcuts should work. I would check with a Mac guru who runs a duel boot machine if you can.

Continue with your data recovery program, hopefully it will find everything.

Just in case that doesn't work, if you have a newer Windows OS (anything released in the 21st Century), you should have a "Restore" point set up automagically. Check "Help" in your Start menu for "Restore" it should walk you through going back in time before the files were deleted. This is also a very handy tool to use if your PC has been infected with Malware.

Good luck!

In Topic: Where Are The Vista Users?

Don't mind the newbie, I'm just going to jump in and rant for a second.

I am a computer professional, I support them for a living, so I'm pretty comfortable navigating and using Window Operating Systems. But I have got to say I am this >*< close to taking my laptop that came with Vista and rolling back the OS to XP.
I've finally gotten it so all the Vongo pop-ups are gone and it doesn't "Blue Screen" regulary anymore. But I am not liking the way it has removed or hidden a lot of the administrative abilities. That and I bet my programs will scream without Vista hogging all that RAM. My old desktop used to run XP acceptably well with much less RAM than the 2GB my laptop has.

That said, it's very pretty to look at.
:breakdance:

In Topic: I Need More Help!

Ugh! I want to help Deb! I really really do! But I don't use PSE6 and it's different enough from 4 (which I barely remember at this point) that I don't know. Is it one of the drop shadows that came with PSE6? I know 5 & 6 have ALOT more options for changing things like color and such than 4 did. I was going to throw out an idea but I really don't want to steer you down the wrong path and mess things up for you. So ... if you don't get an answer by tomorrow let me know and I will find someone to help you. K?

Some Jedi master you are ;)

All fixed, once I resolved myself to just deleting and starting over, it was a matter of seconds. I remembered my font and although I didn't match the color I liked the new color better.
