  8. Welcome to Scrap GIrls!

  9. Here is the second page of my 2-page spread. This is the first time I have scanned a document into my computer so that I can put it on a digital scapbook page. Fun! Journaling reads: "On Monday, Leah's kindergarten teacher had the students draw a picture about what they did over the weekend. Leah drew a picture of herself inside our camper. She included windows, a door, wheels, and her bed!" Everything is from the Naturescape club kit, accept I recolored the journal block (from green to blue) and erased the lines again.

    Camping

The new Naturescape club kit was perfect for our recent camping weekend! This is the soonest I have ever scrapped a page - the photos were taken only a week ago. Everything used is from the club kit. I love the red leaves in this kit! One technique on this layout (PSE4): I "erased" the lines in the original journaling block by replacing the interior of the block with a new paper. There are many different ways to do this, but this is how I chose to do it. I used the magic wand tool to select the dark brown border. I clicked "Layer" and "Inverse" to invert the selected areas. With the jounaling block layer selected, I used the eraser tool to erase the middle of the block inside the brown border. Because the brown border was not part of my selection, my eraser erased perfectly up to the border. I then cut a rectangle, approximately the size of the jounaling block, out of the same paper as my background (with the color removed and then replaced with a brown shade). I placed this paper behind the block and then merged the layers.
  11. I love the newspaer theme for telling this type of story. You did a good job documenting the event with your photos too. Great job! Suzy
