  12. Recently I had to do an album for my great aunts 90th birthday. This is a photo of my 93yo grandfather. There was a lot of background distraction, so I messed around with various tools on PS to create a blured non-descript background. Didnt really know what I was doing, does it show? lol (I am still learning PS and have a long way to go!!) Elements of the layout I scraplifted from a layout from Jennifer Okonek using the Naturescape collection Supplies used: TCS Naturscape Collection (Paper & Frames) BHA Maliby Holiday Collection Eyelets EHI SS Tools, Styles, Beveled JHI SS Embellishment Templates, Curled Edges
  13. "ANZAC Day – 25 April – is probably Australia's most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as ANZACs, and the pride they soon took in that name endures to this day. Australians recognise 25 April as an occasion of national commemoration. Commemorative services are held at dawn – the time of the original landing – across the nation. Later in the day, ex-servicemen and women meet and join in marches through the major cities and many smaller centres. Commemorative ceremonies are held at war memorials around the country. It is a day when Australians reflect on the many different meanings of war." Australian War Memorial website http://www.awm.gov.au/commemoration/anzac/...c_tradition.asp Every year my brother and I take our grandfather, who served in WWII in New Guinea to the Dawn Service and Anzac Day March in Melbourne. It has become a family tradition and each year, more members of the family join us. These photos are of my grandfather, my great uncle and their sister at the Shrine of Rememerance on Anzac Day 2005 and 2007. It has always been a very special day for our family.
