Adobe Kills Cs Suite, All Products Now Subscription
06 May 2013 - 02:43 PM
ACK! I can't believe how frustrated I am with Adobe. They have now killed the numbered editions; if you want their products, you must pay for a subscription, month-to-month or annual.
For the first year (only) they're providing a discount for folks who had prior versions. After that--full price. The plan is probably ok if you upgraded for every edition, but NOT if you bought a product like CS4, and expect to amortize it over a number of years. They claim customers prefer subscriptions. I dunno....

As Time Goes By
05 March 2013 - 09:58 AM
I want to say thank you to all my Scrap Girl friends--yesterday was my 4th anniversary at this wonderful purple place. You have truly become part of my heart and family. Thank you, thank you, thank you. -
Brandy Murry's Silhouette Action
17 January 2013 - 11:56 PM
Has anyone tried these actions (http://store.scrapgi...ttes-p27688.php) in Photoshop CS4? Brandy tested them in CS5 and CS6, and indicated that in PSE, you need PSE11.
I'm not ready to upgrade Photoshop, but these actions certainly look intriguing. Thanks! -
Adopting The Community Of Newtown, Ct
16 December 2012 - 08:59 PM
Today at Mass, Fr. Francisco did not preach a homily. He indicated we would sit in silence, sending our thoughts and prayers to the people of Newtown CT. After 10 minutes or so of peaceful quiet, he indicated we are "adopting" St. Rose of Lima parish in Newtown, and invited us to write Christmas cards of condolence, hope and prayer for the people of the community. Drop them at his office, and he'll overnight all of them on Thursday. Thank you, Father, for this wonderful idea.
Some of you may have seen this post on my Facebook page. I am posting it here, also, because I think the idea is wonderful, and it sounds like something our ScrapGirls' community would do. If you want to send a letter supporting the community at large, the parents, teachers, pastors & rabbis, families and citizens of Newtown, the address to send to is:
St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church
46 Church Hill Road
Newtown, CT 06470
I'm sure the other faith communities in Newtown would also appreciate this outreach; perhaps someone else can provide additional addresses. -
Finding Your Own Style
08 September 2012 - 11:35 AM
I have thoroughly enjoyed making my pages, but of course, sometimes, I find they take TOO much time to do. Part of it is what I want to communicate to my family, friends etc, part is what techniques I want to try or incorporate. Part is scanning and correcting old images, unavoidable. Part is doing a very big project, Around the World 1996, over the course of three years and counting of scrapping, and trying to make sure it "fits together." Part of it is not having a "go-to, easy to get done" style.
I don't know if she finds it easy, but I really admire Jode2771 Wk35 Project 52 style, and her most recent image Larry with the mostly white backgrounds. They are anything but boring, because the color and photos make them pop. There are other prolific scrappers who have distinct styles.
How do you find a style, for a project, or in general? Do you have a "quick and easy" style for some scrapping and "freestyle" for other scrapping? The question here is for Jode and everyone. Tell us how you do it! Thanks in advance!
