About Me
I'm a retired teacher and about five other careers who spends her time volunteering for various organizations, mostly the Sierra County Humane Society. I have two rescue dogs sleeping at my feet. I'm also a Rotarian and have several jobs in our club to perform. My current love is digital scrapbooking, because I don't have to try and cut and glue things with my arthritic fingers, and I love working with the computer. I also do genealogy which falls right into scrapbooking. I'm trying to help my friends understand Elements 7, but one of them did the unmentionable and died on May 7th of a heart attach within an hour of emailing me concerning our scrapping projects. So every time I figure out something new about what I'm doing, I think of Nancy. I belong to a traditional group, but have turned them on to the digital aspect. I don't want to take away from the lucrative promotion of our sponser, but I noticed that Scrapgirls had an ad in the BH&G scrap mag. So I know I'm not alone out there.
I am a widow with three grown children, two in Albuquerque and one in Ohio. I live in a resort community on the largest lake in New Mexico. My youngest daughter and her husband have parked their pontoon boat in my RV space in my front yard and every three weeks we explore the lake and update our tans. I know that's not a healthy concept, but at this stage of my life, I'm sure the damage is done.
I really love scrapgirls because everyone is so warm and sincere and helpful. I have two blogs: one is http://cabbagemama.blogspot.com/. I started it because I love to travel. Before my husband passed away, we had several motorhomes, and we stayed in our last one up until three weeks before he died. I sold it, because it was too big for me to drive comfortably; however, that hasn't stopped me from traveling cross-country in my SUV. To keep my kids happy while I travel, I update my blog with pictures and news. Guess what? They don't even try to call me on my cell, and I spent all that extra money on extra minutes. Go figure!
