I am a Christian wife, mother & grandmother. DH & I have been married for 40 glorious years. We had 3 children, 1 boy & 2 girls and the girls have given us 7 grandchildren ranging from a few months to 14. The first 3 are boys & the last 4 are girls. We also claim 2 more daughters, one in Japan & one in Brazil. They were exchange students with us when they were in high school.
My work experience has varied from telephone operator (way back before we had direct dial in our area) to secretary (when they were called secretaries, not administrative assists) to ad designer for our local newspaper. I hung up my hat & retired in 2010 although I do a little freelance work. I've also taken a part-time job as secretary at our church.
Since retiring my husband & I have been able to do a little traveling. The travel bug hit us when we went to Japan for our daughter's wedding there. Then of course when the one from Brazil got married we had to go to that one too. A friend introduced us to cruising. What fun that is! We have done several Caribbean cruises & one in the Baja area.
Church activities play an important role in my life. DH & I are active in our small congregation where we have been members since the early 70s. Presently I am president of our woman's group (thanks to Ro, I've given some good programs based on some of her muses.) Music is an important part of our church & my life. I have participated in the choir, even with my not-so-good voice, & I played the organ for a number of years. I lead a weekly Bible study. God has been good to us through the years. He has provided us with much & given us strength & love.
I have been scrap-booking off & on since I was in high school. My first big one was in 64 when my parents & I went to California. That was back in the day when there were no neat papers & embellishments to enhance the pages, but the memories are still on those pages. When our kids were little, my interest diminished & I didn't do anything. But when the grandchildren came along & my daughters discovered SB, they shared it with me and I've been hooked ever since. I started with paper scrapping at first & then I found digital -- I've even gotten both of our girls & the oldest granddaughter interested in the digital type.
The time since I've been involved here has proved to be inspirational, challenging & I feel like I've come to know so many of you personally. Not to mention the tricks I've learned.
