  5. Wow, that was a hard one. The oldest kit that I never used. Well, since I'd been scrapping for a couple weeks before I joined ScrapGirls, sadly, it wasn't one from this site (also I'm pretty sure, on looking through my folders, that I have used EVERY SG product I've purchased AT LEAST once. Woohoo me!) but it struck me nonetheless. I think this was maybe the 3rd kit I ever downloaded - a little freebie mini-kit off a website I don't think I've been back to since then. The colors were gorgeous, but I just didn't have any inspiration to play with it... Until today. This page marks a few firsts for me - 1.) I made that circle mat in the center completely on my own, out of the papers that came with the kit. I think I like it, and am going to experiment more with this newfound skill. 2.) This was my very first attempt to play around with clipping masks, and I think it went splendidly. The two photos are on mat embellishments that came with the kit, clip them to, and voila! It looks like I have really old, torn photos stapled in there! (I feel like this is some trick, since those pictures were taken less than a week ago!) This is another toy of my PSE7 I think I will play with more often. 3. The hearts in the bottom left corner were created by me, using a freehand shape I made and then clipping the maroon background paper to it. I used my tablet (there's the first!) to draw the scrollwork on them, and then applied a clear glass layer style (standard with PSE7) to the swirlies. I really need to utilize this awesome tool more - esp. since the DH bought it for me for Christmas! 4. I also did some custom word art in this one. The "I Will Always Love You" in the upper right. Again with the clipping masks, and playing around with layer styles (I think that one was a bevel border - standard again). Woohoo! Overall, I was surprised by how challenging this challenge was - both finding the (almost year old) kit, and then scrapping with it and adding my own flair to the page. I think it looks nice - but I KNOW it can look better - and I can't wait to begin refining my style! Credits: Moments Mini-Kit by Meryl Bartho
  6. I love it when pages look like bookends! Again, gorgeous soft colors here - and I really love those in combination with black and white photos. I love how the journaling block dips just a little below the picture as well. Beautiful!
  7. I love that soft background, and the way you used the embellishements to accent the photos. Gorgeous LO!
  8. I love how classic and simple this layout it - the flower embellishments and the brushes make the LO so soft, and that's a great fit with the photo!
  9. I love the colors! And your model is darling too! Very nice use of the rainbow and ribbon - and I'm with everyone else - what style was that on the flowers? So pretty!
  10. Those little girls are adorable! And that's a great resolution!
  11. Wow - that took me a second. Looking at the preview, I was thinking, "Identical sixtuplets playing in a stream..." XP Very nice photo trick you did there! Great LO!

    Adkins Family Scrapbooking

This album used to be just about my first year or marriage and scrapbooking - but I figure, why box this bad boy in, right? So, at this point, I'm opening it up to all of my pages (mostly my 12x12's) and scrapping away. :)
