General Question On Heritage Photos

19 May 2015 - 11:11 AM

I need some opinions, comments, advice, etc... About 3 years ago I statrted scrapping a powerpoint presentation using one of the presentation 1-2-3 kits. Unfortunately, I lost the original files (not photos) but do have a copy online at photobucket. In the time I started those I'd like to think my skill level has improved at least somewhat. My question is do I start over? I'm not sure the files at photobucket are the correct size for printing. I also more photos that I haven't scrapped yet. Also the photos have a new meaning to me. I'm not sure if I want to continue with the powerpoint presentation. I know one of the designers did a genealogy collection.

Now that I know the truth about my past I want to start getting all this going and search more but I feel overwhelmed on where to start . My mother's father had lots of notes on his side but not on his wife's.  I thought maybe get the photos organized and scrapped (and safe) I could go from there.

Sorry to ramble on but I was feeling overwhelmed. If you took the time to read this. I thank you.....

Searching For Misplaced Files

30 April 2015 - 11:41 AM

When I do a search for something on my computer or EHD the search will show me items that match my search but it doesn't show me where it is located. I know I can just double click on the file and it will open up. Here is my example; I worked on a photoshop project. When I wanted to work on it again today it was't where I thought I had saved it. When I did a search on the computer I found it but I don't know where it was saved so when I close it today I don't know where to look for it the next time I want to work on it. Does anybody know how I can find a file is located when it comes up in a search? I sure hope I'm explaining this clearly.

Thanks for any help!

Remembering Everything You Have

16 February 2015 - 12:51 PM

I have all my digi supplies sorted how I pretty much like it although it could probably use some tweaking. Sometimes when I do a search for something in particular I come across things  I've forgotten that I even had let alone never used. Mostly it's templates, overlays, masks, etc. How can see what I have without opening each file? Same thing with brushes. Sometimes I can't tell what the brushes look at just by file name. Sometimes I have an idea of the brushes but usually there is more than one so I'm not also sure which one I want to use. At one point I had used it brush on a 8.5 x 11 page and printed them all out. I may have to do that again. I did that with my fonts. Don't think I could do that with all my templates and such.

Hopefully one or more of you will have some wonderful tips. I feel a bit guilty not using all these wonderful goodies I have stashed away. ;-)
