Brushed Borders Biggie

11 October 2014 - 07:00 PM

I have Elements 11 and just bought Emily's Brushed Borders Biggie.  I installed the brushed but when I tried to use them, I got a message that they were not compatible with my version of Elements.  Has anyone else encountered this?

Matte Photo Paper Vs Card Stock

05 October 2014 - 09:36 AM

Good Morning:

I have both matte photo paper and 110 lb cardstock from Staples.  My Canon printer does a fantastic printing job on both mediums.  When is it preferable to use the more expensive matte photo paper rather than the cardstock?  I've used both for printing cards and honestly, can't tell that much of a difference between the two.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Snu Color Swatch Question

08 August 2014 - 08:51 AM

I'm stuck trying to use this action.  Here's where the problem is.  I have deleted the pre-existing swatch colors in the preset manager.  I can run the Color Pick Action and saved the swatch in a file I named Swatches.  At this point I can keep the swatch panel open and can use it to help with with colors in my layouts.  However, I can't re-open/retrieve the swatch file once I close the preset manager.  Where am I going wrong???

I'm using PSE 11.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Photo Resolution

22 July 2014 - 08:43 AM

Good morning:

I am hoping someone might clarify something for me.

I use Blurb to print my layouts in an annual photobook.  When I received the first printed book, I noticed that the print quality of only the photos I used in the layouts was awful.  When I contacted customer service, the rep asked me what the resolution of my photos was.  I told her it was 72.  She suggested resizing the photos to 300 resolution and to redoing the book.  The print quality of the resized photos was perfect.  I had created that book using Paint Shop Pro.

When I drag an un-resized photo into a layer Elements 11, which I now use, it appears that the resolution is 300, which is what the setting for the background layer is.  Does anyone know if I can stop resizing all the photos before using them in my layouts?

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Paper Cutter

12 July 2014 - 03:43 PM

Does anyone have a recommendation as to what paper cutter to buy to, for example, cut 8 1/2 by 11 paper into quarters for making the front of cards?  The basic one I have doesn't cut straight and I find it is really difficult to line the paper up correctly before cutting.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
