  1. Layout #3, Task 1 (Monday, March 18th): We're going to do something a little different this week: An art journal layout! Let's lay our foundation. TASKS: 1. Choose your art journal theme. To make this easy, I would suggest creating a layout based around something that makes you happy - or several things that make you happy. Another possibility is to create a layout that helps you vent about something that bothers you, or something that is making you unhappy, stressed, or anxious at the moment. Keep in mind though, in order to be eligible for prizes over the month, you'll need to post your layout at the end of the week. 2. Let's start our background: Similar to last week, choose at least three papers, and at least 1 must be patterned. You may use more than 3 papers if you wish. Blend all of them together in some way. Blending modes are great, or you can blend them by using a paper template (Scrap Simple) - paper templates are great ways of blending more than 2 papers together! You don't have to have every paper covering the entire layout; for example, you may have one paper covering half of the page, while the other two papers are blended into the other half. 3. Find or create a page border. Weeeeee, we're off to the races! 🤭😁
  2. @CRS Carla, how in the world did you manage to make a white-space layout with all these tasks?!!! I'm so impressed! 🤣
  3. Layout #2, Task 6 (Saturday, March 16th): TASK: Make your final tweaks like adding shadows, adjusting angles, add date-location-names, then upload to the Slow Scrap Gallery and leave a link to your layout below! Thank everyone for playing this week. 😃 I myself am behind too, work has been a little crazy lately, so I will get caught up today and tomorrow. Our weather has also turned a little spring-y finally, so I think there will be a few walks this weekend!
  4. Layout #2, Task 5 (Friday, March 15th): Hmmmm, @alsoarty Andrea's layout looks a little too good. Let's pile on! 🤩 TASK(s): 1. You have a choice to make today. Choose between adding a stamp/transfer/stencil to your layout, OR adding journaling. 2. Find a brush and paint something on your layout! If you use software that doesn't allow you to actually brush with the brush, use one of the brush elements one your page (they usually come as a set of png's with the brush). Oh my... getting full yet? You know that today is Pi Day... and between work and home, I've had at least 3 different kinds of pie today. Misery loves company, I'm full so I will make you full too! 🤭
  5. Layout #2, Task 4 (Thursday, March 14th): Well now, wasn't that fun? A few of you said rotating the layout actually worked out OK for you... we can't have that, so: TASK: Add 12 unique embellishments to your layout, one of which must be a creature of some sort (animal, gnome, fairy, etc), and one of which must be an article of clothing. 😁😁😃
  6. Layout #2, Task 3 (Wednesday, March 13th): Ooookaaaayyyyy... ready? TASK(s): 1. Turn your layout 90 degrees either clockwise or counterclockwise. You of course may re-orient the photos, but that's all. The title and papers must stay tipped over 90 degrees. (This could have been MUCH worse... I could have tipped you over after adding a bunch of embellishments!) 2. Now find a page border and add it to your layout. This may be a complete border (that runs around your entire page), or a partial border (along 1 or more sides of your layout).
  7. This week is all about stripes and circles! Figure out ways of incorporating stripes and circles onto your layout. When your layout is complete, upload it to the Weekly Newsletter Challenge Gallery, then come back to this thread and leave a link to your layout so we can all admire it! If you're also participating in March's Challenge Chase, be sure to leave a link to your layout in that thread too: March Challenge Chase
  8. Oooohhhh, my goodness! I came here tonight to post the second task for Layout #2 - and apparently I never punched the "SUBMIT" button last night! I was so confused, thinking where in the world did my post go, did I dream writing it? Very sorry. And now for task #2: Layout #2, Task 2 (Tuesday, March 12th): Let's go ahead and add our title to the layout now. It's a little early, depending on how you usually go about building your layouts, but there may or may not be some fun in our future! 😜 TASK: Add a title to your page, using a combination of an alpha and a font. To make this even more challenging, the first letter of your title needs to be much larger than the rest of the title. Weeeee, and we're off to the races! 🤩
  9. Great job on layout #1 everyone! 🤪 Ready for a new week? We'll have two less days than we had for the first layout, so maybe I won't be able to stuff as much onto the page. Maybe... Layout #2, Task 1 (Monday, March 11th): TASK: To start our layout, find 3 patterned papers and one solid-ish paper (this can be an ombre, or water stained paper, or close to a solid). Of the three patterned papers, choose two of them to blend together in some way. As for photos, you may choose however many photos you wish this week.

The Air and Space Museum is impressive, so much to see there! As always, great photos. I also love your background paper, and that you journaled on a torn scrap of paper.
  15. I'm glad your mom is feeling better, that must be a relief after years of pain. Sound like you've had a very busy month traveling, too! That bread looks absolutely yummy. We made a lot of sourdough during the pandemic (well, DH made it), but we haven't made any for quite a while. So much work!
