I grew up on a small farm in Iowa and those rural roots gave me a love for all kinds of outdoor things: birds and animals, flowers, landscaping and gardening, hiking and biking. You'll often see those things in my layouts.
My husband and I have been married for 33 years. We have 2 boys who are on their own now, but we're still a close family. (Still waiting for daughters-in-law and grandchildren.) Keeping us company at home are two small dogs, a schnauzer and a shih tzu. Besides scrap booking, I enjoy golf in the summer, serve on the leadership team for a women's Bible study group, and serve on the tech team in my church.
I started paper scrapping in 2000 never got too many albums finished. In 2010, getting ready to document a 30th anniversary trip to the Mediterranean, I went totally digital and have no regrets. It's so fun to make changes to pages without ruining supplies and photos. And I can always print an extra copy of a page for a friend or family member.
I owe a lot to Scrap Girls! I picked up the basics of PSE from the "learn how" section of the website and Ro's tutorial videos. The galleries provided inspiration and I scrap-lifted countless layouts as I was learning this process. Even now, it's so fun to post layouts and get feedback from others who enjoy this same hobby.
My favorite subjects to scrap are vacations and heritage photos. My current ongoing project is to take my old photo albums, scan my favorite photos and make layouts using them. I'm surprised how fast those photos are losing their color quality and I want to do this before they're lost forever. These two pages are part of that project, and I guess they are among my favorite layouts:
