I bought an Epson WF-7510 last summer and absolutely love it. Love the wireless feature as well as the wide format printing. I agree though about the disposability of things in general these days.

In Topic: What Are Your Favorite Summer Reads?

  1. Never read Nora Roberts! Well maybe one, years ago. Used to read lots of Nancy Atherton's "Aunt Dimity" series - a quaint little mystery series set in England.
  2. Someone just turned me on to the Outlander series and now you're telling me there's a TV show?! Like, maybe in 20 years I'll catch up?
  3. Best reads I've read lately: The Gravity of Birds, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Frye, The Language of Flowers, The Dog Who Danced . . . also enjoyed Me Before You, Ordinary Grace, and The Forgotten Garden. Actually I've loved everything I ready by Kate Morton (The Forgotten Garden).

ScrapGirls has a lot of good quality fonts (you do have to be careful of "free" fonts as not all of them work at all resolutions, etc.). That said, there are some sites that will create a font from a sample of your handwriting! I haven't bothered with it yet but that would be very fun (if you have decently legible handwriting)!

In Topic: New Year, New Books?

05 January 2014 - 12:57 PM

I love a new year and thinking about my reading for the coming year. Someone gave me Devotional Classics & Spiritual Classics a few years ago and that is what I'm leaning towards this year. designed I think for one chapter a week.

I read Jesus Calling throughout much of last year. Not sure I'll continue with it but I do like it. I have been doing something for the past few years where I jot down the Scripture from the Sunday message and try to spend a day or so in that through the week. And on the weekends I tend to go towards whatever passage I know the coming Sunday will be about. Gives me more of a connected feeling to my church community.

I also put together a collection of prayers and poems I've written over the past few years and it's on Amazon as well - Taking Dictation. This was a really fun project on many levels.

Oh and last check, I think about 10 of Beth Moore's books are being offered for free on Amazon and a few other sites - until January 10. So snatch them up - what a great opportunity!
