javanilla724  trying to figure out how to make a picture look like it's curling off the page - via shading or something - anyone?

the best way I found was to get the template here in the boutique for about $3 usd. search under curled or lifted template. They work really nice. I think curling is a lot more difficult than lifting. And it would depend on your software. my 2cents.
