About Me

size="5"][/size]I am many things. I am a wife, mother of two, sister, daughter, friend, housekeeper, stay at home mom, Sunday school teacher, dog owner, cat owner, crafter, scrap booker, avid reader, flower gardener, and daydreamer. I am a perfectionist with a twist. If I canít do it right the first time, procrastination sets in. Thus, I can truthfully say that I am not a neat freak. With two kids, my house will never be perfect.
Scrapbooking has definitely challenged that perfectionist side of me. I hate to share my work sometimes because it never feels done. Yet, I know that the purpose for creating my pages is to share it. I love creating scrapbook pages. I, however, am not very artistic. I am good at seeing othersí ideas and creating similar looks. I dream of understanding color and proportion when working with layouts. I keep a color wheel handy at all times. I sometimes wonder if I am color deaf (not tone deaf). I sometimes think I am just like the kindergartener. I get to school and find all those crayons and paints and glue and paper and canít wait for the teacher to let me play.
Prior to having children I used to work as a Customer Service Rep in Commercials Lines in the Insurance Industry. When my son was born I came home from the work place. When my son was very young before my daughter came along, I started selling stamps and taught others how to stamp as a hobby. The company I sold for really pushed into the scrapbooking field and thus began my love for scrapbooking. All those papers and matching stamp pads just fueled the fire. Later I joined a group of ladies that taught me more about including other forms of art into my scrapbooking and card making (i.e. Watercolors, acrylic stamping, etc.).
Three years ago my sister introduced me to a lady who was selling a digital scrapbooking program. I jumped in immediately. Sometime later, I learned about Scrap Girls. I started receiving the newsletter. I kept thinking that I needed to buy the full Photo Shop program. I didnít know how wrong I was. I downloaded GIMP but never really got into it. Three months ago, I finally got my hands on Photoshop Elements 8.0 when I purchased a Bamboo pad. I had no idea what I was missing. I purchased ScrapGirls Secrets Revealed and the rest is history. By the way, I love my Bamboo Pad.
Thanks for stopping by my page.
