  1. Great photo! Thanks for showing off Dad's Suitcase. Since my Dad passed away, I don't have the heart to retire it yet. I'm glad to see how you've used it!
  2. I love Pesto, but I have to make mine dairy free now. I substitute the cheese with nutritional yeast. Not nearly as tasty as this recipe sounds. I love the paper and the embellishments you've used.
  3. Looks like you've had a great month so far. Gotta love those blue skies. Thanks for showing of the Recap Templates!
  4. Thanks so far! I know I don’t want to start with a name, in the file name. I have over 100 people in my mom’s family, Ken even more on both sides. Dad has quite a few as well. However I might want to include which branch. But it might depend on my ultimate goal for scanning. Will I make scrapbook pages? Certainly not for all of them! Right now I’m focusing on Mom’s albums. Why digitize? My brother wants to throw out the old albums after they’re scanned, but destroying originals makes me a little crazy lol. We want to give my Mom a digital frame for her new place. That’s a good goal for now. Digital formats become obsolete. I did a few DVD projects that I can’t use anymore, made with iMovie. Unplayable. I worry about doing a lot of work and not being able to use them later. In that end, I think JPG is the best format.
  5. I have the epson flatbed as well. I have usually ignored the location, and just sent them to my downloads, but that's a good tip. It will save lots of time. Thanks Celestine!
  6. My Mom is downsizing to an apartment. (actually larger than mine, lol) She gave me all the family photo albums to scan/digitize. I've decided to use my flatbed scanner, since buying a new sheet fed one is too expensive. I would love a portable one, again, too expensive. My big stumbling block right now is how/what to name what I scan. What to name folders, etc. And how to organize. Unfortunately some of the albums are just completely random sets of photos. Mom has never had an interest, and Dad is gone now. I also have a box full of loose photos. We went through a bigger box and tossed more than half of them already. Random baby pictures of unknown kids, landscapes and scenery... Without my Dad's keen memory, a lot of them are unidentified people and places. Sigh. This is why I tell people to Scrapbook, lol! Previously I had named the first 2 folders "AlbumBook-a", and "AlbumBook-b" with "Album2" in the second folder, but that's not very descriptive. Yet I don't want long folder/scan names. Numbering makes sense for a chronological set of folders/photos. Also seems very daunting, as I'm sure I will find things in other boxes etc that would need to be put in between. I did go through the books already and put sticky notes with the approximate year of the album. Funny, there are over 4 albums for 1983, the year my daughter was born, Mom and Dad's 25th, and a bunch of weddings, lol! Anyone tackled this kind of project, and what would you recommend?
  7. A new series, continuing from Scrap It Monthly, but different. Still double page, still monthly, but more artsy.
  8. Thanks for helping me choose!
  9. Thank you too! I was really struggling with this name lol.
  10. I've decided on "Recap" Laura and Diane, look for a link in your inbox!
