About Me
Marlene is married to her high school sweetheart and the love of her life. She’s a mom to two grown "kids" and grandmother to two wonderful little guys. (She says she’s not old; she's a young "Oma"!) Ken and Marlene live in the beautiful Niagara peninsula in Ontario, Canada, just minutes from Niagara Falls.
Marlene is committed to her church and loves to cook; you will find her and her hubby in their church kitchen every Wednesday afternoon, cooking up a storm for up to 80 people, seeing this as a “backyard mission field.” She truly loves it!
Marlene had her education at Sheridan College, School of Crafts and Design, majoring in metal and jewelry. (That was a long time ago, she says, when “hippies” may have been roaming the earth... well, okay, it was only the end of the 1970s).
She later took several courses in graphic design and multi-media, and for several years, she was designing and doing separations for the screen print industry.
While researching a better program to use for putting a slideshow together in order to document her father’s memoirs, she discovered digital scrapbooking. Very quickly, she also discovered how much fun it was to design papers and elements.
Marlene is thrilled to be part of the Scrap Girls team and hopes that her designs will enable others to tell their stories and preserve their memories for generations to come.
