I love scrapbooking but I always always have an issue with the memory in my computer. I guess the images are so large and I'm working with so many of them. After awhile in PSP, I'm unable to do anything more and have to save what I've done and close and reopen it.

I am working on a:
Dell N4010 Laptop
Intel Pentium CPU P6100 @2.00GHz
64 Bit operating system
4.00 GB Ram (says 3.80 usable)

and my image program is Paint Shop Pro.


Any suggestions?

Hello from Louisiana! I'm Rachael; I am 23 and have been into designing since I was about 13.

I was involved on a children's website that had a moderated forum. Someone had posted a cute little "signature" at the bottom. I thought that was so cool and I wanted one. I found forums specifically for artists to offer these to people for free. I collected them for awhile and decided I wanted to try making some. I downloaded a free version of Paint Shop Pro and tinkered a bit. I loved it. The next year my dad bought me the full version of PSP8 and that's still what I use!

It wasn't long before I got to be an artist and make these signatures for people. It was so fun. I was also making my own business logos for people. None of them got sold...but it was still fun practicing.

I was a signature artist up until I graduated high school I tried to keep up but had too much going on.

I wanted to go to college for graphic design but I think God's plan for me is different. I think I just like this as a hobby. I still get excited when I am asked to make something though!

I knew about digital scrapbooking through Yahoo groups I belonged to that shared free tubes, fonts, brushes, etc for us artists to create with. A lot of us would make signatures with parts of the scrap sets. Made them look so neat.

Now I am interested in making scrapbooks of all my treasured memories. I am totally new to working with huge size graphics so will need your help sometimes. I have tried manual scrapbooking with real paper but I feel like I can be more precise doing it digitally. I need to find a good printer so I can print out my pages and put them in a actual book.
