Topics I've Started

  1. Bokeh Photo Action Won't Work

    09 May 2013 - 05:06 PM

    Hi Ladies,

Some time ago I purchased BMU_SSActions_Bokeh. I've tried to use it today and it doesn't seem to work properly! I'm sure it's something I've missed so I would be grateful if someone would help me out.
I can run all of the initial 'patterns' (e.g. circles, hearts) without any problem. However when I run the 'Overlay' it all goes wrong. It asks me to do the brush work to remove the pattern and then to blur the background, but you can't actually see anything happen (unlike in the video clip that comes with the set in which Brandy explains how it works). Once you finish with both brushes and hit play it comes up with the following two messages and then just loops back to asking me to use the brushes again:

    1. Object 'layer Layer 1' not currently available
    2. The command 'Make' is not currently available

I'd be really grateful if someone could tell me what's gone wrong - many thanks.
  2. How Do You Blend Two Papers Together?

    25 March 2013 - 07:06 PM

I have two background papers, one layered on top of the other. The top layer is smaller than the bottom layer. I would like to 'blend' the edges of the top layer into the bottom layer so that the hard edge of the top layer disappears.

I'm sure there's probably an easy way to do this but I can't for the life of me work it out - please could someone enlighten me?

    Many thanks.
  3. Jan Layout Contest

    07 March 2013 - 08:34 AM

I saw the January Layout contest topic (everyday moments) at the beginning of January and thought 'excellent I could enter that, I have loads of everyday photos of our son'. Unfortunately we had to move out of our house during January (to let the builders in!) and so I didn't even get to start the layout I had in mind until the beginning of February, and I've only just managed to finish it off in March!

Anyway, I'm really quite chuffed with the end result - hope you like it too.

(I have no idea how to link through the gallery, so if I've done it incorrectly apologies!)
  4. Creative Job?

    18 February 2013 - 06:14 PM

I'm not entirely sure that this is where I should be posting this, but I couldn't find anywhere else, so apologies if I've got it wrong!

I am a stay-at-home mum to a 3yr old son. He has another year and a half before he goes to school (we live in the UK) and I'm beginning to think about the possibility of going back to work, however I don't actually have a 'job' to go back to. Before my son was born I was a primary school teacher, however I'm not keen on going back to that because of the hours it involves. I also tried to start up my own business making handmade wedding stationery. It was just about getting off the ground but then my son was born and I just didn't have the time any more. Although I loved the creative aspect of it, I did realise that I wasn't really a 'business' person and that marketing and advertising were definitely not my strong points! I would like to 'go back to work' once my son starts school, and I would like whatever job I get to be something that I really enjoy and find fulfilling. I love all things creative (scrapping, cardmaking, sewing, cake decorating etc.) and so would be interested in finding some sort of 'creative' job. Unfortunately I have no idea of the possibilities that might exist and very little idea of how to find them!

So, if that makes sense, does anyone have any suggestions?........
  5. Any Sg From The Uk?

    18 February 2013 - 05:54 PM

I know SG has members from all over the world, but I am intrigued to know who else is from the UK. I live in Kent and have one young son. I love digi scrapbooking and have sooo many photos of my son that I really ought to scrap, but find that I just never have enough time! How do other people from the UK find time to scrap?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thanks so much for your kind and generous comments on my "Lucky You" surfer layout! As for the banner, there was no cutting involved. It's a brush included in the Exuberance collection. Easy!
