  1. Placing Items With Even Gaps Pse11

    04 January 2013 - 08:10 AM

I'm really hoping there is an easy way to do this as it annoys me every time I try.

When I'm placing items of the same size I know I can select them all and use distribute to get them evenly spaced, but what if the items are different sizes? Are you able to define the gap you want between items? At the moment my attempts have resulted in me counting squares on my transparent background or drawing a shape of the size gap I want and using the cursor keys to position my items, fairly time consuming and not always accurate.

For example, how does April organise her pictures so evenly?
  2. Problems Unzipping Freebie Files

    30 December 2012 - 05:56 PM

    Hello,

I've been having a mass unzipping of the all the items I bought in December and did the freebies while I was at it. However, I haven't been able to take the files out of three zip folders, is there something unusual about them?

KMC_SSEmb_TisTheSeason_Special.zip it is asking for a password
JZI_SnowandMistletoeSpecial_WA.zip I'm being told there is nothing in the folder
BMU_WesChristmas_Special.zip the folder is 8000kb but I get an error saying there is nothing to extract

Any suggestions? As I've got different messages I've assumed it is not user error...?
  3. Hand Held Scanners

    27 December 2012 - 12:23 PM

We already have a flatbed scanner, but I find it difficult to scan from books as I get the curve caused by the spine and I don't think it is worth the required effort to scan in magazine clippings. I put a handheld scanner on my Christmas wishlist hoping someone would do the research and buy me one, but they didn't :( So I'm going to buy one for myself as a treat.

The ones I previously researched were LG mouse scanner and Vupoint magic wand. Both seemed to have good points, but weren't completely convincing. Do you have recommendations for an easy to use scanner that will cope with book gutters?
  4. Pse11 Using Cursor Keys

    16 December 2012 - 08:34 AM

I really like using the cursor keys in PSE to move items a little bit in one direction (I'm not accurate enough with the mouse). However, in PSE11 I often find the keys don't do anything. I've already discovered that if I've got Effects chosen the keys will scroll through the different options, but I don't know why they sometimes work and sometimes not when I've got the layers chosen (obviously when I've got the move tool selected).

    Any thoughts??
  5. Which Software Is The Most Appropriate?

    09 December 2012 - 07:17 PM

we are hoping to move house early next year the house needs quite a bit doing to it. For Christmas I wanted to buy my husband an ideas book with a mix of blank pages for notes and checklist for things that need doing. I haven't been able to find anything so thinking of making one. What are your recommendations on software? I was thinking of table with check box and duplicating it down the page, but k ow that won't be easy in pse.

Sorry if words messed up I'm writing this on my tablet.

Thanks for the update. I'm trying Bloglovin. It seems to be pretty similar to reader and so far is finding all of my subscriptions unlike netvibes and feedly.

Hi Kate thank you for hunting down that link for the Norman Hartnell dress. I love the glamour of the 1950's and this dress is a perfect example, don't you think?
