    Time marches on

Having taken advantage of the labor day coupon, I just had to fiddle, as you will understand. I purchased the Serene moments biggie (and the splatters) and the Scrapsimple layout template The Shape of Things. Bit of a quickie, but ok all the same. The title is chosen because after years of getting on well, my grown up children now fight like cat and dog (actually, I think I prefer the cat and dog at the moment).

    Happy Days

I can't believe that this photo was taken 20 years ago! My girlie is just as pretty now. I don't like over-cluttered layouts, so this is quite busy for me. The background paper is one I bought ( in a shop, can you believe it?) The butterfly is from the narrative collection. The green paper is the 'suede' paper template, my first ever scrapsimple purchase. The roses are from the Nuptials and watercolour roses collections. The journaling is from Apothecary labels and the wordart and other bits and pieces from the Girljoy collection. As you can see, I don't tend to pay much attention to the theme of a collection, preferring to mix and match as the moment takes me.

Love the treatment of the frame!
  4. ps, anyone know how to remove a picture? It irritates me that one is posted twice.
  5. Thank you, it's been a real voyage of discovery. I was very close to my Grandparents, and would like to pass their memory on to my children.
  6. Thank you, it's all thanks to my mother who kept everything safe after my Grandparents died, we have marriage licenses, passports, the works!
  7. I just wanted to say HI! I had to check to see where you are from because you stated that the pictures go back as far as 1860--about Civil War era. Thanks for sharing your heritage LOs!

  8. This is the second page of the double page spread chronicalling my Grandmother's early life to her marriage.See previous page for details of materials.
  9. I like to use elements from many collections and mix and match. The papers are from 'Fade to Grey' The frames and embelishments are 'sincerely yours' clusters. The tags and brads are from the Beachcomber collection. The two pages posted form part of a family scrapbook that I am compiling which at the moment goes back as far as 1860.
