Tagging Pictures On My Nikon Coolpix S4300 With Star Ratings & Pse13 Tags

27 May 2015 - 09:23 AM

Sorry for the long title of this post, but didn't know how else to say it any shorter.

I'm working on getting all my digital pictures organized in the PSE13 Organizer. This works with "Tags" and makes pictures easier to find.

My Nikon Coolpix s4300 camera will let me put star ratings on any pictures I have on it. I've done that with some pics that I had not downloaded

off the camera. When I did, I didn't see the star tags on those pics in PSE13.

Not sure if PSE13 recognizes Nikons' tags or if the star ratings that Nikon does actually are in the metadata of the pic.
Is starring the pics while on the Nikon camera and then having them recognized in PSE13 even possible?

Would be REALLY cool if it is!

Anyone know?

Removing People From A Photo Using Pse

25 May 2015 - 12:18 PM

My son told me about this and sent me the link. So cool, had to share!

In my PSE13, I go to Enhance > Photomerge > Photomerge SceneCleaner  (this is the same place I go to do my panoramic stuff).
Here's another video that gives pretty good step-by-step instructions.

I've noticed that I'm a LOT more conscience about what I take pictures of knowing I want to use them in some sort of photo/scrapbook.

To that end, I'm getting more picky about pictures I actually take. This technique will be SO handy.

Reminds me of the panoramic I took last summer when we were on vacation in Hawaii. We went to the Punchbowl Cemetery and when

I turned around on the steps and saw the whole cemetery and the trees and the view beyond I thought that would make such a great

photo. I decided to do a pano; I usually do from left to right. So that's what I did here. I didn't even realize until I was looking at all the

photos of it afterwards that I had capture the same car in every single shot (that's 6 or 7 photos). Oh well.

Western New York

24 May 2015 - 09:00 AM

Wondering if there are any scrappers in the area that would like to meet up for coffee and conversation?

I'm in Western NY, just outside Buffalo.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Work Flow And Organizing

22 May 2015 - 09:21 PM

I'm wondering how you all do your work flow with getting new kits, starting a new page or project and just plain organizing your photos and stuff on your computer?
I've been reading whatever I can and my head is spinning with ideas and thoughts; it's overwhelming and exciting.

Pse13 Accessing Program Files

21 May 2015 - 11:47 AM

OK, I don't know what this would be called, so didn't know where to post it or how to search for it on the internet.

I have PSE13.

I want to make a photobook using the "Create" feature in Editor. On the right-hand side are the Backgrounds and Frames that come with PSE. I'm guessing these are saved somewhere in PSE13's Program Files. Is there anyway I can put my own Backgrounds into that folder or whatever

in the Program (say like I would imagine people do when they get more "brushes"). Right now, if I want a different background I use whatever as the background layer, but would like to have my backgrounds shown in the menu on the right-hand side like with the ones that come with PSE.
