What Camera To Buy

03 April 2007 - 11:16 AM

A friend of mine asked me if I thought a high zoom camera by Kodak, Z712, 7.1 MP and 12X zoom would be ok to take on a vacation. She doesn`t want to spend a lot of money for the camera but also wants to take good quality pctures for scrapping. I told her I had never used a Kodak and didn`t want to give her advice but I told her I would ask the experts. If not, what would you recommend? I am a cannon person myself but know that the SLRs are a lot more expensive then the Kodak. I will say this, I have seen some pictures taken by an Easy Share Kodak and they were beautiful.

Scrapsimple Templates

20 March 2007 - 02:40 PM

I bought and downloaded some templates and I can`t open the file. It is a file that looks like a little camera and says SS Store file I thought it was for PSE 5 but maybe I got the wrong file. :disappearing-smilie: When I try to open it it comes up in PSE but says it is the wrong type file.

External Hard Drive

18 March 2007 - 01:25 PM

I just bought a Western Digital 250G EHD. "My Book" (whatever that means) Essential Edition. Now I know this is going to sound like a silly question, but I went to install it and there was nothing in the instructions referring to a laptop. All the pictures and info were about a desk top. Now I have 2 other EHDs so I am sure it is ok, however, the other ones were installed by just plugging them in. This one suggests I download the lastest updates for windows and I have to install the drives and then there is a google software to choose. :( Also it says the driver is preformatted as a single FAT32??? partition for compatibility with all Windows operating sustems. The FAT32 file system has a maximum file size of 4 GB and cannot create partitions larger than 32 GB. XP users (thats me) can overcome these file size limitations by reformatting the drive to NYFS (have no idea what that is) using the Disk Management utility. (have no idea how to do that). Now what in the world does all that mean. Please someone help, you all know I have ADD and even on meds I`m not comprehending this. <_<

What is "MY BOOK" anyway? Grrrrr :banghead: Maybe I should just pack it up and take it back.

Sharing The Love

14 March 2007 - 10:06 PM

Since returning from vacation I have been soooo busy trying to catch up with everything and everybody. I`ve had the trailer to clean, clothes to wash, my house to clean, (how does a house get dusty with no one in it?), get caught up with the committee meetings I missed, go through all the mail. OMG, I`m ready for another vacation. Anyway I just wanted to say that inbetween all of that I am trying to check in at SG and yesterday I went to the gallery. There is no way I can leave comments on all the wonderful, fantastic LOs and I can`t leave them on a few and not all of them and wouldn`t want to make that choice. I did want to say that all the LOs are absolutely beautiful, I can`t get over how great everyone has done with the challenges and the faith journey and I could go on and on.
Hopefully, I`ll be back on the boards next week. :clapping_kitty: Keep up the good work, you are the greatest.

Organizing On Dvds

10 March 2007 - 10:08 PM

I am finding that I have quite a DVD collection. Does everyone put all their extracted files on DVDs or just the zips? Maybe I am over doing it. I have another ACDSEE question. When you put all your kits in this program don`t you have to have whatever you are going to use on your LO either on your hardrive or find where you have stored it and open it up from there to use it? I keep all my open kits together on an EHD and I just open it up and since everything is organized with the contents displayed on the outside of the folder it is easy to choose what you want for your LO and you don`t have to keep it on your HD or go looking for it. I don`t know, just seems simpler to me. ;)
