Does The Comic Action Work In Pse 10?
18 April 2013 - 05:51 PM
Comic action
I saw that it's marketed for PSE 11, but was hoping that maybe it would work in 10 too. Anybody know? If it works, I'd like to get it before the sale is over.

17 April 2013 - 08:47 AM
Here is a link to the voting spot - this company is selecting 15 wishes to grant. Value of the wish is $5,000, and we could sure use it! Thanks, ladies!

If it's not ok to post the link, I apologize. It's not a competing company, so I thought it might be ok. -
I Officially Have Myesthenia Gravis :(
10 April 2013 - 07:52 AM
Saw the neurologist yesterday and he confirmed it. He said I was lucky that I was still alive since I have gone undiagnosed and untreated for 7+ yrs. He also said that according to what I told him about my recent worse "episode" I had suffered a myesthenic crisis. A myesthenic crisis is what kills most people that have myesthenia gravis because during a crisis the diaphraghm gets fatigued to the point that it stops working and you suffocate. He also said it's the main reason I have struggled so much trying to workout and lose weight. If my muscles aren't able to work properly, I can't get a decent workout in = no weight loss (or very little for my perceived effort).
Then he proceeded to tell me that I will have to have my thymus gland removed even though the CT scan was clear. Apparently, many people with Myesthenia Gravis (MG) will develop a tumor in the thymus gland. The tumor is always cancerous, so he would rather remove the gland now, than do a CT scan annually to look for a tumor. No reason to expose my chest to that much radiation, so he plans to schedule that surgery soon. I am not sure how they plan to remove it at this point, but the most common method is the same as open heart surgery, they will disect my sternum. Fun.
So I left feeling shell-shocked, and cried most of the way home. Bryan works nights and wasn't home when I left. He was sleeping when I got home, so I wasn't able to talk to him until he got up at 4:45 yesterday afternoon. It was a stinky day.
Thanks for your continued prayers. On one hand it's good to have an answer... on the other hand, that was NOT the one I had hoped for. -
The Good News Keeps Coming :/
23 February 2013 - 07:35 PM
As some of you know, Bryan is in the reserves & civil service for the Air Force. The threat of furlough for govt employees is now a very real, and likely, threat. Administrative furlough would mean that he would be short 16 hrs every pay period, which means we would be getting about over $600 less per month for as long as the furlough lasts (at this point they are expecting it to be at least until Sept). I try not to whine about our circumstances much, but with 4 kids, 1 of whom is special needs, we barely scrape by (and sometimes need a bit of help) as it is. We have made additional cuts in the budget, but nowhere near the amount we will be short. It's not definite yet, but if it happens I have no idea what we will do. I guess we might have to send a couple of the kids away to family to make the bills lower... we'd have already dropped internet if it wasn't for the fact that I do business online & need it. Now I have more tests to look forward to, and I am not sure how much my testing & subsequent care will cost.
But, I am doing my best to avoid stress... so it decided to come looking for me instead. I guess that those of you praying for my health issues might throw in a little word for our finances too... *sigh*

Blood Tests Are In...
22 February 2013 - 01:15 PM
I posted this on FB too, thought I would post it here for those of you that aren't on FB but would like to know.
Blood tests are all back in. Now I have to get more blood tests - they want to do a detailed panel for Lupus & RA. They are also having me come in for a chest CT scan next week to see if I will have to have my Thymus removed (I guess there could be a tumor). Right now dr thinks it is likely to be Myasthenia Gravis, which is so rare that it only affects 14-20 out of 100,000 people in the US. At least I am unique? Sheesh! Anyway, there is no cure, and the causes are unknown. Down side is that I can have a "myasthenic crisis" during which I could be unable to breathe. This is what causes the highest instance of death with this condition. I did have trouble breathing and swallowing during the last "flare up" a week or so ago. It also makes me more vulnerable to other autoimmune disorders such as Lupus & RA. Weird thing is that it only happens during the week leading up to and the week during my cycle. It's so rare that my dr really knows nothing about it. No information I have read or been told about MG says anything about it coinsiding with menses, so I think I will still pray that it is a hormonal imbalance & push to see an endocrinologist.
Prayers are welcome.
Internet did say I should get plenty of rest & avoid stress & heat. Obviously they have never met my children or lived in San Antonio in the summer! LOL
