    Winter

I love grey, misty, snowy mornings . . . so mysterious and enchanting . . . so I was happy to see how this photo of Gage Park in Topeka turned out. An assortment of club kits was used for this layout: 2012 January "Reflections of the Heart" by Jen Reed: Blue paper, blue gemstones 2011 December "Because of You" by Angie Briggs: Embellishment mini-2 2009 April "Noteworthy" by Syndee Nuckles: January tab 2008 December "Ephemera" by Brandy Murry: Background paper, red gemstone Fonts: "winter" Penshurst; poem -- Little Days alt
  2. I have a real font problem . . . I have way too many, and also lose track of what I have. I'm trying out a few different font manager programs -- maybe that will help me!
  3. Finally . . . I talked my husband into another trip out of the country . . . to Grand Cayman. We had a fantastic time, and now he's hooked on warm destinations. Papers and Elements: Reflections of the Heart by Jen Reed Font: Kinkee
  4. I absolutely love living in the country; every day brings something new "outside my window." These turkeys were part of a 27-bird-gang (yes, a group of turkeys is called a "gang" or "rafter"!)The wording around the photo reads "Outside my window a new day I see, and only I can determine what kind of day it will be." These are words I've always taken to heart. The alphabet used for the wording is from "Picturesque" by Snydee Nuckles, with a style applied. Elements and papers are from "Because of You" by Angie Briggs.
  5. Congrats on your Weekly Layout winner. It's an amazing layout. Well done.

  6. Just wanted to stop in & say that your LO in the newsletter today is fantastic! Congratulations on being chosen for the newsletter. Old barns are something I always want to shoot with my camera & I have a whole folder of them. They way you scrapped yours is truly an inspiration to me. TFS!

  7. Cliff Drive is tucked away in limestone hills a short distance to the northeast from Kansas City. You don't want to miss this visual treat! Google "Cliff Drive" & you can find info on it . . . or go to this URL: http://cliffdrive.org/
  8. Our daughter has always had a special place in her Father's heart. A summer visit and trip to Cliff Drive in Kansas City, Missouri proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable outing, especially when we found this man-made waterfall. I used Angie Briggs' kit "Because of You." The script font is Freebooter Script. The sans serif font is Futura.
  9. You're so right . . . Carl Sagan could very well have been whispering in your ear! The guardian of the forest just might be acquainted with the "woodsman." Beautiful photos, and wonderful imagination.
  10. Carl Sagan once said that "Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere." I loved fairytales as a child for that very reason. That imagination let me see this wooden man when I was hiking thru the woods. Can you see him too? I used Snydee Nuckles' Picturesque kit and Valerie Randall's Avalon kit, which was the March 2008 club kit. The font is Papyrus.
  11. What a treat . . . it snowed during our visit to Salt Lake City the early part of November. I was fortunate to have been at this park at just the right time to capture this scene. Paper and elements from Picturesque by Snydee Nuckles Font: Lithos Pro
  12. What a treat to find a praying mantis enjoying his honeybee snack! (Though I did feel sorry for the honeybee.) He kept a close eye on me while eating, trying to decide if perhaps he was up next on the dinner menu. Assemblage by Ursula Schneider: Yellow paper (blended into a "Zoomba" paper) Zoomba by Brandy Murry: Yellow paper (blended with above paper); flowers and foliage; speech bubble; paint splatter Bee's Knees by Brandy Murry: Word art; bee art Fonts: Curlz MT (in speech bubble) and Cedarville PnkFun1 Cursive
  13. We were hiking this past weekend in an Ozarks wildlife area, but the biggest wildlife we saw was this tarantula resting on an old well. It was quite obliging during the "photo session," but probably only because he was slowing down with the cooler weather. When our children were small, I impressed them by allowing a tarantula to climb up my arm. That was a "tame" spider in a nature center, though, and I wasn't taking any chances with this "wild" specimen. But as you can see . . . my husband thought nothing of the possibility of a tarantula jumping on his face. Now THAT would have been a fantastic photo!! Eerie by Shalae Tippetts: Background paper and embellishments Bump in the Night by Erica Hite: Papers behind the photos Fonts: A Font with Serifs and Omatique
  14. It was the end of the road for this bridge; it served its purpose and now resides in quiet dignity and decay. I love photographing old things from another time, and this bridge probably has lots of stories it could tell. Papers: Inspirational by Cherise Oleson Old Photo Frame: Jan Hicks (from 2007) Postal cancellation marks and leaves: Sept. 2007 club kit Stylize Sparkle under the type: Club kit from 2009 Inspired by Melissa Renfro Assorted textures by Distressed Jewell Font: That's It
  15. The Native Stone Scenic Byway meanders thru the gorgeous Flint Hills of Kansas. There are literally miles and miles of old rock fences made by the sweat and labor of early Kansas farmers and their families. No wonder farm families had so many kids -- they needed 'em to gather all those rocks. If you wish, read the inscription on the plaque. I used the October Club Kit "Inspiring." The font is EcuyerDAX.
