I'm not sure where to post this but I'll start here! I have just purchased a Silhouette Portrait (electronic die cutter). I am trying to figure things out but one aspect is REALLY puzzling me. I can open a file, let's just say it is a Studio file (for the Silhouette) and it opens in full colour (let's say it's a red heart to keep it simple). When I tell the machine to cut, it does so, but the result is always just the outline of the item, no colour. How do I get a cutting where the outcome is the full colour of the original?

I like to make my own cards using PSE11. I would like to experiment with cards having cut-outs, and cut via machine not hand. I have been looking at the Silhouette Portrait as a start but cannot figure out whether it will do what I want to do. For example, make a card with a window cut out of the front so you can see through to the inside of the card; give the front edge a wavy look (or others). Due to arthritis, cutting things out manually is proving more difficult as time goes on. Does anyone have any experience with this, or can you suggest a site which can help?

I was just browsing the forum and found a question about slide shows. I have had great success using Photoshow Gold and Photoshow Producer. You can try them out first.
