  1. SO! Last month's book I think was a hit for most of us, and for me, this month's book was a good follow up. I loved the characters in Call the Canaries Home, and how different the sisters and their grandmother were. I'm very interested to hear what you all thought of the book. Be aware: THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THE QUESTIONS AHEAD! So if you're not ready to discuss yet, come back later when you are - we still have plenty of time! These questions are from this website, and there are more there if you want to dig deeper. 1. Sue Ellen, Rayanne, and Savannah have distinct personalities. Which sister did you relate to the most, and did your opinion of them change as the story unfolded? 2. The story revolves around the loss of Georgia and the impact it has on the family. How does each sister handle grief differently, and how does it affect their relationships with each other and the people around them? 3. Meemaw is described as a force to be reckoned with. How does her character contribute to the narrative, and what role does she play in the lives of the sisters? How does her influence shape their decisions and perspectives? 4. Share moments from the book that elicited strong emotions. Did you find yourself empathizing with specific characters or situations? How does the author skillfully evoke emotions through the storytelling? 5. Meemaw imparts wisdom throughout the story. Share some of Meemaw’s memorable quotes or moments that resonated with you. How does her character contribute to the overall tone of the narrative? 6. Forgiveness is a central theme in the book. How do the characters navigate forgiveness for themselves and each other? What role does forgiveness play in their healing and the resolution of past conflicts? 7. The novel has elements of mystery surrounding the disappearance of Georgia. Did the resolution of the mystery meet your expectations? Were there any surprises or twists that stood out to you? You can expect to hear from me in a day or two, but I'm really looking forward to reading your answers!
  2. I'm loving your layouts, ladies! It's fun to make a page about a book you've read, isn't it? I'm hoping to scrap my page very soon. I'll be sure to share it here once I do! Any thoughts on the next book yet? You don't have to share in this thread, but get those juices going. It's going to be a good one! ❤️
  3. Hi, friends! Let's do something crafty and have some scrapping fun! Every month, we'll pick out a theme or snippet from the current month's book club selection to kickstart our creativity. Then it's all about transforming that tiny seed of inspiration into an awesome layout by month's end. Sounds totally doable, doesn’t it? Let's get to it and create something amazing together! Not only do we have this adorable little mini kit freebie for you to grab - perfect for whipping up a simple layout. Or, it's a great match if you want to mix it with our Well Read Value Pack and really get those creative juices flowing. And guess what? We're making it super easy to nail that layout by also gifting you a macro download each month. It's loaded up with a handful of elements that vibe with the book's theme, so you can really make your project pop. Enjoy crafting your masterpiece! We can't wait to see your pages about this month's book club selection!
  4. I'm so glad to see so many of you joining us! I don't want to start the discussion thread early, but I hope that everyone is enjoying the book & characters. I'm feeling really attached to them. (I'm so excited to discuss this book with you all!)
  5. Conda, a lot of books that you can get on Kindle Unlimited you can also get on Audible for free. This book for our book club I downloaded for free in my Audible Library as well, so I can go back and forth between the two (reading and listening) and that makes me VERY happy! I'm not as experienced as my hubby is with KU; he and my daughter use it more than I do, but what I do know of it I really love. Maybe give it a try for a month and see if it serves you well? I'm so glad to see so many of you joining us!!
  6. Can't wait to start our new book club with you all - hope that you'll join us! ❤️

I just ordered it from Amazon.  I was going to get it on my Kindle but thought it might be difficult going back and forth if I had to find things.

  7. I can't wait to read this one with you all! This is going to be wonderful.
  8. Good Reads Book Club at Scrap Girls Hi, everyone! Welcome to the Good Reads Book Club here at Scrap Girls! We are so thrilled to have you here, and want to take a moment to introduce ourselves to you, and give you a peek into our little community so you know what to expect and how you can anticipate the fun we’re going to have this year combining two of our favorite things: scrapbooking & books! We are JoyLynn @blueheartscraps (of Blue Heart Scraps) and Chere @cherekaye (of Chere Kaye Designs), and we will be your hosts as we dive into all sorts of different books and scrapping challenges. Both of us are avid readers as well as designers & scrapbookers, and we can’t wait to share our love of all these things with you! Each month, we will have a schedule of events. Here’s how it will go. On the 1st - we will open our discussion thread for the book we’re chatting about. We will have prompts and questions to talk about, and everyone is encouraged to join us. The more of us that participate, the more fun this will be! On the 10th - we will introduce the next month’s book so that we can borrow it or purchase it, whichever you may choose. We will try our best to get books that are readily available at your library, or that are available for $10 or less for your e-reader device. We want to make things accessible for as many of us as possible. On the 20th - we will have a scrapbooking prompt that will have something to do with the book, along with a free micro kit that will match the theme of the book to help you scrap your memories of the book you read this month! We want to make it fun & easy for you to record your memories of the books that you’ve read, in whatever format you choose. We are here any time to answer your questions! Just tag us here in the forum or send us a private message, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. We can’t wait to read with you, and get to know you all better as we talk about the wonderful stories ahead. Let’s dive into some Good Reads!
