another way to do it is
file -> place (it's about half way down the menu)
and then it imports directly to the page with the name of the item included in your layers palette
you can immediately move it around to where you want
AND there's nothing to close later on~!

Another newbie here. I did file > place and it works but I don't like not being able to see everything (I can only see the file if I select it). So I tried draging the file in but it just "bounces" back to the original file location. What do I need to do to make it stay?

In Topic: How To's Are Not Available

I've figured it out. I uninstalled the program and when reinstalled the How To was there but after installing the current updates the How To was "unavailable" again. I put in a "case" at Adobe so if I hear from them I seem to know what the problem is but I'm going to try and not update the Help Center and see if it "fixes" the problem.

There isn't anything in particular that I'm wanting to learn How To do (yet). I'm just doing basic photo editing and hoped that the How To's would give me some suggestions. I will get Ro's tutorials but can't justify spending the money on the same day that I made the product purchase. When I start doing a bit more digi scraping I'll definitely look into it!!

I did go to Adobe's Online Support. It it a very confusing and not very user friendly so I didn't find anything about this problem.

Well thank you for the info. I was just basing my knowledge on the system requirements on the adobe website:

System requirements

Macintosh

PowerPC® G3, G4, or G5 processor
Mac OS X v.10.3 or 10.4
256MB of RAM
750MB of available hard-disk space
1,024x768 16-bit (XGA) display
CD-ROM drive

I don't have enough knowledge about the program and enough dispensable income to purchase something that I can't use. Elements seems like the program that would best meet my needs at this time.
